Cross buy would be a BIG DAMNED DEAL if it happened in this hardware generation. With the 3DS doing fine on it's own and the Wii U just sort of pleasing the faithful few who actually own one, I don't think they'll bother bringing out that particular gun until the next round of systems.
I'd totally take the discount-if-bought-on-both, though. Would throw them the extra $1 or $1.50 per game to carry over NES games to my Wii U from the 3DS. They're not getting anything otherwise because no way am I buying them twice at full price.
