Look at all the different games that both countries are getting that the other isn't. We've gotten to a point where the other country isn't getting games the other country has until several months later. And its not just a few obscure games, its many well known games. Europe doesn't even have Super Mario Advance yet. While America is still waiting for Golden Sun.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

It's more balanced now. The EU in the 90s and early 2000s got very little. No Mega Man 6, Star Force 3, Super Mario RPG, Earthbound only arrived in 2013, Final Fantasy 1-6 and many more. I know Atlus is still a rare thing over here too.

I'm not sure WHY though. Like why was Pokémon ORAS delayed a week in the EU when it is already fully translated.

Because America is Nintendo best seller. Europe isn't.

Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

It's a completely different set of people deciding for each. Nobody really releases a game as soon as it's done, but rather they carefully plan out the release date that would get them the maximum sales. In the US, it sounds like games don't sell so well over the summer, so they pushed Yoshi back to October while Europe gets it now. The same happens with films. Most of the summer blockbusters get early releases in Europe as the data shows people don't visit the cinema so much during summer.
