Probably Energizer or Duracell Rechargeable AA batteries are better, I use Duracell Rechargeable AA batteries for Wii Remotes and they seem hold a charge well I've gone weeks without using the Wii Remote and it still has some charge left . I used to use Nyko Rechargeable AA batteries and charger for my Wii Remotes but after a few months they stopped working like most of the Nyko thing I've had.
I would choose rechargeable AA batteries. The only convenience that the special packs have, is that you don't have to take them off to charge.
You can buy an Energizer 15-30 minute charger that comes with 4 batteries, for around $30. It charges faster, and you can buy an additional 4 cheap Rayovac batteries for $8 that will last you years, as long as you take care of them.

I got the Rocketfish (A Best Buy brand) charging dock when I first got my wii. It came with two charging docks, and the battery life is about 6 to 7 hours. Even after 5 Years, the battery life lasts a little over 5 hours. Theyre still made, and they even make charging docks for the the Remotes and Gamepad now. It looks like the newer models have a longer battery life than my old model (12 hours). If you're in the US, or have Best Buy where you are, I woud highly reccomend this. It comes with the dock and 2 rechargeable batteries and the price is pretty good.
