I recently started to try to find this game, thought to myself "hey its been a while since this game came out, almost 2 years." so i look for it at gamestop and they are sold out, in fact every gamestop within 70 miles of my city is out of stock according to their website and walmart.com is out of stock online.
I need to pick this one up...But i at the same time when i played it for hours with friends i couldn't help but feel dissapointed with it. And I think it still has the same price brand new as it was before right? then again, Nintendo rarely knocks down their prices for their games.
Anyways, if only Mario Kart Wii had an 'Item ON/OFF Menu like in SSB Brawl...so i could turn off that damn blue shell along with a few other cheap items. The music was also so uninspired in MKWii....the graphics were alright, could of been better....And what was the deal with VS Mode? there was NO 'Lives' Based mode, it was all time based....what a joke. MKWii is a missed oppertunity....at least the Online works perfectly ;p
Sure, they forgot a couple of things in MKW, the most annoying next to others is... where is the rules page when hosting private online races?? I have this theory that if the new Sonic race game is good enough, then Nintendo will release a sequel to MKW on the Wii.
It's still a very popular game. Mario seems to sell best when he is riding a kart or when he stars in a 2D platformer.
It seems to take some stores 2-3 months after Christmas to be fully restocked. My local Wal-Mart, for instance, is completely wiped out of several popular games and has been since late December. Even my local GameStop is still missing some.
I know the game isn't perfect, but I find it more fun now that I've gotten first place in all the races. I don't care about the star ratings so now I just have fun and usually get first place. The rubberbanding is pretty bad, though--if you get hit with a blue shell right before you cross the finish line, you usually end up in 7th place--or lower.
Moco Loco If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.
MKWii is still pretty damn popular. I was able to find one a little after Christmas at Toysrus. It's a great game, and the ultimate game for the non gamer. I've completed my license with gold on every course, but I'm not sure if I will ever 1star every course, so I doubt I'll unlock everything.
Does Mario Kart Wii support the Classic Controller? Because I can't stand the Wii Remote Nunchuck Combo, or the Wii Wheel which i find feels cheap. The Wii Remote by itself on the other hand with Motion Control is alright, but Excitebots did it better. Too be you cant use the Wii Remote on its side with the D-Pad because that would be great but MKWii doesn't support. The Classic Controller for me would be the next best thing....
