This was one game I was going to get on the wii u since I never got around to buying it on PS3 or PC or 360 when it first came out. But going by this http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-05-30-wii-u-sniper-eli... no multiplayer no co op and no kill hitler dlc or any other dlc for that matter.

So for £30 I would just get the standard game with no improvements what so ever and no MP or co op and no dlc. Or I could just go and buy the game of the year version with all dlc and mp and co op for less money.

But buying the game on Wii U will support 3rd Party on Wii U which means future better ports. Also there is some new improvements with the GamePad Features. Sadly no DLC ever for Wii U but if V2 does well we might be able to get Sniper Elite 3 on Wii U.

Buying a poor port tells publishers and developers that we accept whatever lazy games they give us.

How is this a bad port? They gave us the same single player game that the original Sniper Elite V2 had plus extra GamePad stuff. They just didn't give Wii U the DLC. This is one of the more solid ports compared to past Nintendo ports.

I know I personally would rather support 3rd Party on Wii U in order to get more 3rd Party later than punish 3rd Party for not giving the Wii U certain bonus features and make sure we don't get anymore 3rd Party support on Wii U.

For what it's worth, I never got the DLC, but had a great time with the game. Two playthroughs. I'll do another one eventually.

Don't you think this'll only make it worse? Whenever you buy crappy ports because you want to "support third parties" you'll make them think they can get away with making crappy ports. Get third party games that were actually were made with care. When we all suddenly buy NFS Most Wanted, devs will see we have an eye for supperior games and that, if they want to make money off of us, they have to produce a quality product. I support third party devs as well, that's why I bought NFS and BLOPS. Bth of hem weren't my favorite games, but they were made for Wii U with care, that's what counts.

Get Lego DC Heroes, NBA 2K, Injustice,Darksiders, Mass Effect, ZombiU, Tekken, Toki Tori, Bit Trip Runnner, Nano Assault, Trine or Little Inferno if you want to support third party devs!

How is this port any different from any of those others? The only thing that is missing from the original version of Sniper Elite V2 is the co-op... Mass Effect is missing DLC but you suggest to support that even after what EA has said about the Wii U. Sniper Elite V2 is a great port and I am willing to support them for it.

I haven't played the game so I can't comment on that but from what I read it seems like a bad port to me. Please explain why they can justify leaving out content they already developed? I can understand DLC isn't included because that's something you'd have to pay extra for, but I don't get why a dev can just leave something out and expect us not to feel bad about that. I didn;t want to upset you or say your taste in games is bad, I just don't think realeasing an already finished game should be slimmed down without reason.

They do have their reasons, maybe the publisher wanted it out by a certain time and the dev had to cut out something. Maybe they need to test the waters on Nintendo as 3rd party generally doesn't sell well so why sink as much money into a Nintendo version. Maybe they didn't have the right focus for what to do with co-op (should they do split screen? 1 person on the Tv and 1 person on the GamePad? but then they couldn't use the GamePad features... maybe Nintendo's online structure didn't work with their game) so they just cut it. They didn't decide to piss off everyone by purposely leaving co-op out, there are always reasons

I understand there are reasons and they might be valid, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an inferior product and that you can get a superior version for half the cash with a chance to download DLC. If people want to get their game out on a Nintendo platform, they should accept the fact that we, just as gamers on other platforms, don't like their version of a game to be inferior to other versions. If the publisher wants the game out by a certain date and doesn't care what state the game is in, the publisher doesn't take us serious, that is even worse than a dev not taking Nintendo platforms serious. If they can't handle the gamepad, they chose the wrong job. By seeing what game they can deliver that can't be the reason. When a dev doesn't want to spend much money on something, don't do it or accept the fact that quality eats money and create something worth while. To me, this is just another hint to show that either the dev or the publisher does not take Nintendo platforms seriously. If you want quality thrid party games, publishers should know that consumers buy the product of the best quality, that's simple economics, and that if their product doesn't have that quality because they don't want to invest that kind of money, they must know they risk a loss. I'd like to see great games just like you do, and I support devs just like you do, I just had enough of people thinking our brain is in our backside and we can't distinguish bad from good quality just because we like Mario.

I completely agree but I also understand that it isn't always a case of the publisher not taking Nintendo seriously, it is a simple fact that it would not be worth it for a test product to dig too much of a hole. I think they released this port as a test, with a very short development time in which there was not time to implement online play, so they would know if the Wii U is worth supporting. I don't have any friends that would be interested in this kind of game so the fact that it doesn't have co-op doesn't affect me. Also I am still getting a full single-player experience without the extra DLC while supporting 3rd Party on Wii U. I just see more positives to purchasing this game than negatives.

Yes, it could be a test product. But in that case, this product can't be used to check if the target audience is on this platform. I, for one, would love to play something like this. I really like strategic shooters and there isn't one one WIi U so I was part of the target audience, up untill I heard there isn't any online play. None of my friends have a Wii U so I wouldn't need it anyway but it just stings that we can't at least have the same product, a year later, for double the price. Because of this, I won't be buying this one.Even though I would love to have it, because of the state it's in, it doesn't justify the price. The dev might think the audience isn't there while in fact, it is. They just don't buy it because they won't pay double the price for half the product. As a result, they won't develop anythin else for Wii U while I'm just craving for something like this that feels like a complete package. I'm just sitting here, wallet in hand.
The thing is, if you want to test the waters that's fine by me, but don't do it like this. If they would have given us a smaller portion as a downloadable, I would download it because it justifies the price. As a result, they know I'm here, alongside my wallet.
When you want to sell motorcycles, don't test a platform by selling one with only one wheel

I completely agree, I would rather have the complete package. I am just saying I understand the reasoning behind why this happens and will be purchasing the game in hopes for future 3rd Party. I am not saying that you hate 3rd Party for not buying this game and I am not saying that everyone should buy this to support 3rd party but I see a product that interest me and I want to see more of it on the system I love so yes I will be purchasing it. I just dislike how many people are trying to stop people from buying it because you can get a better deal on a different system. If you want that better deal then go out and buy it on that system.

If you want this game on Wii U and don't mind the missing features then support this title because you want to see more like it. That is really all I am trying to say.

Even though it doesnt include the online features (problably due to the low install-base) i never would call this a "bad port"
It has the whole campaign with new Wii U features. In a time where everyone seems to be upset over the fact that every game has to come with a multiplayer mode i also find the criticism to be.. "Just because of it", in some cases.

I wonder how many that even were planning on buying the game that now are "upset"?

I bought this game (20 euro) and its a lot of fun. It stand good on its own without the online features. And actually.. not buying third-party games doesnt lead to more third-party games.. Dont believe that for a second. Im not saying anyone should buy games they dont want.. but if anyone were interested in Sniper Elite V2 in the first place.. its a good buy.. and if people dont buy it? 505 Games wont go "Oh, well... They didnt because the lack of online"..

They will think "They didnt buy Sniper Elite V2 so they are not interested in V3 either".

True, if you start supporting substandard ports we'll get more substandard ports.

If you plan on porting an older game that's already in most bargain bins on other platforms which also got lowish reviews than you better give the definitive version.

I still think this is a game worth supporting. The only thing this game really missing is the online co-op which I would never get to use. The DLC is just Extra Side Missions that don't affect the single-player story, so I am getting the same experience in the story. So what am I missing really? If I got this on a different system I would be able to get the DLC but wouldn't have the awesome GamePad features and I would be supporting 3rd party on the other system. To me this is not only a good game that I will really enjoy on Wii U but another 3rd Party Title I can support in hopes to get more 3rd Party Titles on Wii U. Sometimes it isn't about getting the most bang for your buck, sometimes it is about sending a message(too bad I don't know how to post The Joker picture)
