I've tried everything that I have found on the Nintendo site and YouTube !! I've input everything manually and still no luck. My son has games he wants to play and cannot as the console obviously needs updates. I've phoned Nintendo and emailed them with no reply ! Please help !!!! :-)

How long have you given them? Emails take a bit of time, even more this time of year.

If you have a wireless router then it should work...All you have to do is go to options and click "internet" (or maybe it's wireless) and search for an access point. If your router has a password you enter the security code for the connection and that's it...

Hmm...Mine connected perfectly fine. If you have a Wiimote try going to the Wii menu and opening the options there to try and connect from there (if they still include the options in the Wii Menu).

Probably something simple...but please give more details....

1. Does the wii u find the router when you create a new connection?
2. Does it connect to it and perform the test to tell you if you can get out to the internet?
3. What kind of wireless encryption are you using for your router? WPA2? WEP?
4. Sounds like you have alot of tech in your house...is your router set to a certain device limit? For example my router currently allows no more than 50 devices to be connected.
5. What kind of router is it?
6. When's the last time the router got rebooted?

Mine connected fine. 24 hours? Remember it's the right after the holiday season, and Nintendo is being bombarded with emails. Expect an email within the next few days, most likely.

So, how did you find Nintendo Life forums? If you called Nintendo, you speak to a customer service representative most of the times, when you call. Also, if you can't connect it via WiFi, you can always buy the USB Lan adapter and directly connect it.

Hello Sarahwhl.
Your problem, believe it or not, is with your super hub despite the fact that it works with everything else you own.
I got one the day after I got my WiiU and it wouldnt conntect despite finding it.
There is a thread on this very forum that will help you. It helped me connect and ive had no problems since.
this is the thread. At post 11 within it is a link to another website, just follow that link and complete the steps.
You will have to paste this link into your address bar as i dont know how to embed links.

Hope your son gets to play his games, but it might be a bit late for tonight once you see this and install all the updates. Hope it helps, let me know.

20 minutes? Call right now. You might have called the wrong number or something, I just called to report an issue and got right through...

I believe the problem is with WPA as the Wii/WiiU run better using WEP so you might need more help via Nintendo for a work around this issue ;)

I also have a virginmedia super hub and had the same problem connecting to the Internet.

I followed the steps in the link and it worked for me. The only extra thing I did was change the encryption standard in the wii u settings to wpa2-psk(aes). Same as my 3DS (at which point I remembered that I'd also had a similar issue with the 3ds, Nintendo's default settings don't seem to work with virginmedia). Changing the encryption standard on its own didn't work and it was only after I'd followed the IP address manual configuration steps as well that it started to work. No problems since.
