Topic: Improvements you would like to see on the Wii U.

I love my Wii U but have noticed a handful of things I wish were different.

1. Not being able to play some game content. Nothing like spending a bunch of money on a game and you find out you can't participate in some of the content because your an only child or because you live alone. At the very least add an AI to play with so everyone can participate.

2. Controllers don't work for all games. Why do I need 3 different controllers to play all the games? Game pad is awesome but dies rather quickly, so if you wanna continue playing after your game pad dies or play with others you will need an old Wii remote. The Pro controller to me is a must have for games like Ninja Gaiden 3 and Black ops 2 but doesn't work for all games. I would personally like to see more games that allow you to use the pro controller. I know that you can't use it for all games and that's ok but maybe add a tilt feature like the old Wii remote had so you can use it for games like Super Mario Brothers U or Nintendo Land as the second player.

3. Game disc runs at all times even when not playing the game. Really worried about the motor burning out after I spent a lot of money on the deluxe version of the Wii U.

Like I said before I love my Wii U and can't wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us. I just thought I'd mention the few things I noticed while the console is still in its infancy. Add what you'd like to see added or changed and who knows maybe we will all have a hand in shaping the future of this awesome new console.

My biggest issue is Warawara plaza. Not much of a technical issue, but something that annoys me.
Seeing the Youtube community, The Legend of Zelda community in my Warawara plaza, since its launch annoys me, I'd like to see plenty of different communities in the Warawara plaza, yet the Youtube communitiy, and other communities similar are stopping it from either being in the Warawara plaza for so long, or not in the Warawara plaza ever.

Written posts in the plaza can be cut off if the post is too long, slightly killing the whole point of the Warawara Plaza.

Pictures aren't available to view in posts of the Warawara plaza, making some posts hard to understand, also slightly killing the whole point of the Warawara plaza.

I agree with you Whirlpool. I love the Idea of Warawara plaza but it definitely needs to be tweaked a bit to be enjoyed at its full potential. For me I don't like seeing everything I have posted show up in Warawara. Sometimes I have a question only for the community I posted it in like how to get past a certain part of a level. I would definitely like to choose which of my posts gets announced in the plaza. Maybe make it so you can have your plaza post separate from your community posts.

Did you not update your Wii U? The disc stops running in it now.

System Features & a few applications:
1. Fix software issues (especially with system-wide freezes occurring due to disturbances in network connectivity)
2. Allow for system wide chatting in the system menu and in future games (also allow devs to update games to take advantage of this feature)
3. Allow users to turn Gamepad screen off through the TV button (this would be very useful in games that just put a useless map on screen or in Netflix)
4. Let users connect FAT formatted SD Cards and HDs inorder to enjoy their own media content (photos, music, movies, tv shows, home videos, etc) through the multitasking TVii app or a dedicated multitasking media app.
5. Connect to more social services aside from Miiverse (do not get me wrong, I really like Miiverse; but sometimes you may want to share stuff to people who do not have the same console as you do). Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube connectivity would be ideal. Also, optional youtube recording and sharing for certain games would be nice.
6. Add AAC and MP3 codecs and the ability to view online PDF files to the Wii U browsers. Being able to upload and download images and certain other content to and from an external storage device would also be nice.

eShop:
1. Change the layout of the eShop to make it more consistent and user friendly (this will become more important as more games are coming)
2. allows users to directly pay for things using a credit card or a prepaid Nintendo card without having to add funds (right now in order to make direct credit card payments you still need to have some funds in your eShop account; you cannot make any direct payments at all through pre-paid Nintendo eShop cards).
3. Tie eShop purchases to an account rather than the system.
4.Connect the 3DS eShop to the Wii U eShop and give developers options to implement universal purchase options (so that if you have a copy of a game on the Wii U you can get the 3DS copy at a discount or for free if the developer wishes).
5. NFC based credit-card transactions would be a nice time saver.

Games:
1. Bring more games (this is kinda obvious and it will happen and I'm patient, but I still think it is an important [yet obvious] priority)
2. Allow certain multiplayer games to use 2 Gamepads (or 1 Gamepad and a 3DS with Circle Pad Pro add-on)
3. Allows games available on both 3DS and Wii U to do automatic save transfers without relying on an external app.
4. Make content sharing (like videos, user made levels, and other user made content) possible through Miiverse and other physical means.
5. Allow users to share certain supported content to non-Nintendo social networking networks (like Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter)
6. Aside from bringing all VC platforms and games available on the Wii, bring new VC games for platforms like Dreamcast, Saturn, Gamecube, and later even retail Wii games.

1. That's not an issue with the Wii U...nor really is it an issue with game design. Some developers intended for their games to be played with other people locally (such as Nintendo Land), but there are still many single player-only games out there. I would figure that someone would at least know if the game is more single player or multiplayer based before they bought it unless it was an impulse buy or something

2. All games support the gamepad, so you don't exactly NEED three different controllers to play all games. The pro controller is basically the gamepad minus the screen...it really isn't all that different or necessary in any situation. Wii remotes are pretty much required for multiplayer games, but just like you would need to buy extra controllers for any other console to play multiplayer games, you need to buy more Wii remotes to play multiplayer games on the Wii U, or just have a friend bring their remote instead. Either way, the gamepad is the only controller necessary to play any game on the Wii U (excluding Wii mode). I do agree that more games should support the pro controller, but I think it would only be useful for games that need analog sticks. Honestly I would rather play NSMBU with a Wii remote than a pro controller anyway. It's all up to preference I guess.

3. I doubt it. Nintendo consoles generally have low failure rates, and I think it's even more rare that a motor in a disc drive "burns out"

If you dont have any funds on eshop, when you buy a game, you are told you don't have enough funds in your account and are given an option to pay the remainder by card.

I think your forgetting that not all consumers are avid gamers. Nintendo tends to make games that cater to younger players. This means that a lot of parents, grandparents and other relatives are buying games for the little ones. More often then not a kid sees a game that looks good to them, asks for it and someone buys it for them. Parents and grandparents don't know to ask if a game can be played single player or multiplayer only. In any case if you spend $60.00 on a game you shouldn't need a second player to enjoy all of the content.

Buying anything without first taking some time to see find out about it is a bound to end poorly. Whether videogames, microwaves, cars, whatever. There's no excuse.

Further, there is always information on the back of the box saying if it's single player only, or if it has multiplayer.

A developer is by all means allowed to make games with content that a lone person cannot enjoy. Because many, many purchasers will be enjoying that content with their friends or family.

To be honest, I would like more sports games (MLB and NHL) and more "hardcore" games so I don't have to go out and buy the Xbox 720.. However, I'm not sure how likely it will happen. :/

True, but that's an issue on any home console, not just Wii U.

Actually, it would be nice to be able to change the brightness level on the GamePad, like the 3DS does. Like if you're in a dark room or want to save the battery you can dim the lighting. Doubt that could be implemented through an update though.
