Topic: Gamestop posters

Um so, I was wondering if anyone has gotten posters from gamestop? I notice tons of cool posters around their store and was wondering if you ask about old posters they would they give you one of the old ones? I saw a thing in the ign boards that the employees had to wear super Mario 3d world cat ears and someone said that the employee was gonna give him a pair, so I was wondering if any one else has had people from gamestop give them stuff.

When I was younger and I used to go to Gamestop my dad would always ask for the old signs and stuff like that. He managed to get a few Sonic Stand-up card boards signs (little ones, not like life-size) and a crash bandicoot one. He also got a huge hanging Pokemon mobile that likes.. a big triangle with three sides saying Pokemon and a Pikachu on it and it has a Geodude, pokeball, butterfree I believe? There's like 5-10 pokemon from Gen 1 all on seperate strings that you can hang from it. Since then though.. no luck. They're really stingey now, I assume it's because of eBay and the rise of collectors wanting this stuff. It never hurts to ask though dude. I'm willing to bet they still throw a lot of stuff away.

Eh, I've never gotten anything from Gamestop but much like yoursef I've heard of tons of people getting stuff by simply asking for it. From what I can tell, Gamestop employees aren't exactly attached/obligated to get rid of those posters, so they just hand them out to anybody who asks for them. Heck, I once heard of someone going dumpster-diving behind a Gamestop and finding completely intact posters. So yeah, apparently Gamestop is okay with handing some promotional material out to eager customers.

I don't think they have to do anything else with the posters once the promotions are done

When my friend worked at Gamestop unless the company who sent the promotional posters for example Nintendo with a Pokemon X poster asked for them back after the promotion they would either let the employees take them home or toss them. So in all honestly I don't see what's wrong with asking them. The worst then can say is no.

unlurks When I got Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon on launch day, I was waiting in a line and I heard thr GameStop employee in the other line ask if a lady who was buying thr game wanted a poster. She said no. I then, sneakily (well not really), ran over to that line and (didn't cut, mind you) ended up getting it. I'll post a picture in a second.

They have given me two things (Animal Crossing + harvest moon goods) plus offered me a full sized StarCrat II cardboard cut out. I just did not have the room for it. It never hurts to ask. I have full intentions of asking for the Luigi green cat ears from the Super Mario 3D World employee promotion.

I got a sweet poster for Watch_Dogs when I pre-ordered it.

They gave my brother 2 Pokemon X & Y posters when he pre-ordered. My guess is that alot of people bought the digital versions, so there were alot of posters left over.
