This is frustrating me to bits (LOL)...... I have here a PAL Sega Mega Drive II that I got second hand and the box has a sticker that says this model uses UHF band only. This model was purchased in New Zealand and for some reason it came with a RF Unit that was designed for United Kingdom/other countries. But as the box sticker suggests, this RF unit is meant to work with this MD.
I have tried doing what the manual has suggested, I've tried setting it to channel 2 first on both I & G settings, then I did the same with channel 36 and also tried fine/auto tuning this machine, but nothing's working.
Can anyone help me with setting this game console up? I haven't had much trouble setting up a console with an RF unit before (My Sega Master System uses one), but this just doesn't seem to be showing any picture or sound whatsoever.
I know that the console works because the lights are lit up, but just no picture whatsoever, also yes I'm using an analogue tv/ CRT, so someone please help however you can, thank you.

Might be that the actual video out is broken. This happened with my Genesis and I had to do some soldering to fix it.

I'll try my MDII on my own tv and see if it works, I've been using someone elses tv at the moment, I'll check that, but can you give me any links for soldering/fixing the video out? It might not be the problem, but just in case...

Not sure of links I just popped it open one day and did it.
