I'm sure many of you don't remember the old Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis Western cyberpunk/fantasy Action RPG, Shadowrun (and hopefully none of you remember the crappy 2007 Xbox 360 FPS that followed it), which was based on a Roleplaying franchise of the same name. Either way, several of the original developers are back with a new company called Hairbrained Schemes to make a sequel...ish, which was funded through Kickstarter back in April 2012. The link will tell you more about their spiel of the game, but I think it might be better to show than to tell - They recently put out a video of some alpha gameplay footage, which I've posted below:
Personally, I'm excited for this. I don't think I ever played the original, but I love the look of this game, I love the setting, I love what I've seen of the classes and the turn-based gameplay. Hopefully the writing holds up, too, but you also get a sample of that in the video, but I couldn't read it because my connection's too slow to heighten the resolution enough to make that text legible.
They're aiming for a July release on PC/Mac/Linux and iOS/Android Tablets, so hopefully we'll be able to play it soon enough.
Oh, I should also mention that you can pre-order the game on their website for $5 off the regular price. I also hear they'll stop taking pre-orders pretty soon, though.

I'm really looking forward to this! I played the Xbox version and the NES version, and I can't wait for more - not that I enjoyed the Xbox version very much.

First wasteland 2 and now this. I'm so happy that isometric RPGs are making a comeback with the help of kickstarter. Great games would never have had a chance without it because nobody wants to fund a game like this anymore.
^Don't forget Torment, too. Yeah, I'm really glad they're making more games like this, with fresher visuals and worlds, too. I like the gameplay of those old games, but I don't care for the settings or visuals, so this is really up my alley.

I've never actually played Planescape Torment. I should get on that before they get the new one out. I have to disagree about the graphics of old though. I find them quite charming now. Fallout 1 and 2 and both amazing games and two of my favorites and I love the graphics despite being dated.
I just found the worlds boring-looking. That actually applies to most modern games, too, but I felt it really hurt the older games. These Kickstarter games, especially Shadowrun Returns, seem to know how to make their worlds look cool.
