I recently purchased a Sega Saturn, All the Cords, Two Controllers, and NFL Quaterback '96 from a local Vendors mall for $25. I had been looking for a Sega Saturn for many years and I finally found this one. Sure it came with an only regular football game and I had to replace the save battery, but I think it was a good deal. However now I need to find games for the system, so can you all help me with that? Finally I want to hear your opinion on the Sega Saturn as well. From what I think of it, its a great little system!
Anything by Capcom seriously their Saturn games are good. I'm a former Saturn owner so here are the games that I thought were awesome. 1. Duke Nukem 3D 2. Nights Into Dreams 3. Panzer Dragoon II 4. Daytona USA Championship edition(the second revamped version) 5. Sega Rally Championship 6. Sonic 3D blast (better than the Genesis version) 7. Resident Evil 8. Night Warriors Darkstalkers Revenge (arcade perfect) 9. Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2 10. Mega Man 8 11. Fighters Mega Mix (you get to fight as a car) 12. Fighting Vipers 13. Virtua Fighter 2 14. Virtua Cop 1 or 2 15. X-men children of the atom
I loved my Saturn before the disc reader eventually died on me. The games were great but only Sega and Capcom provided strong support. Great system for 2D fighting games. See if you can import titles that Saturn was more successful in Japan and had a better library than the US. But great find and a great system.
I'm going to be getting Nights, Try To get Virtua Fighter, Panzer Dragoon, and Duke Nukem 3D. What do you think of the Saturn, I could probably take a guess
Also try Die Hard Arcade, that's a fun little beat-em-up game, and it's quite comical for an action title. Also try Astal, a luciously beautiful looking 2D platformer. I also like Clockwork Knight, which is another 2D platformer. I have my Saturn hooked up still working but I haven't played in a while so I need to look at all the games I have again because I can't remember them all. I have a couple of good imports too, and alot of the good import games are fairly cheap in price.

Yup I forgot Die Hard Arcade is awesome but be careful because there are 2 Diehard games on the Saturn. Make sure its Sega's Die Hard game.
fudgenuts: Get them at all costs! Also MGS, FF 7, FF 8, FF 9, and a couple others are what I like for the Playstation. But the Saturn has more to offer!
Mystaria Shining in the Holy Ark Bug! Bug too! Bubble Bobble also featuring Rainbow Islands Daytona USA: Championship Circut Edition Virtua Fighter 2 Die Hard Arcade Guardian Heroes -not the easiest to find and is one of the more expensive North American Saturn games Hyper 3-D Pinball Last Gladiators Digital Pinball Night Warriors: Dark Stalker's Revenge Nights into DreamsPanzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon II Saturn Bomberman Sega Ages Virtua Cop Darius Gaiden William's Arcade's Greatest Hits
I cannot believe that nobody has recommended the majestic wonder that is Shining Force III! Easily my favourite RPG of all time and although the second and third parts are Japanese-only, the first part is good enough on its own to justify a purchase. Just make sure you pick up a memory cartridge as well, 'cos it takes up a stupid amount of memory.
Did Treasure's Silhouette Mirage get a Saturn release in the US? I would guess that, like 'Guardian Heroes', it would be an expensive disc, though. It has a cool, colour based gameplay mechanic, a bit like 'Ikaruga', but in a side-scrolling, jump, shoot and punch context. **** Edit. Doh! I should have checked first. It was only the technically weaker PSOne version that was released in the US, by Working Designs. The Saturn version joins lots of other Japanese only releases, like the quality fantasy brawler, 'Dungeons and Dragons Collection', which has rubbish load times and also which makes me want to blub like a little baby, because my copy was stolen, alongside my entire gaming collection in 2000!!! Sorry about the mix up. ****
I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.
I don't know many games, but my opinion on the Saturn is kinda weird. The Saturn wasn't a bad console, it was just left in the dust of the N64 and PS1 and it wasn't planned to have many superstar games as Nintendo or Sony.
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar. Please contact me before using my custom avatar!

Try to get the 2 Discworld games. Great Point'n Click fun. The 2 Virtua Cop games were also great and not mentioned before. SNK made some good ports of their games, but you have to mod your Saturn, because they used special RAM and ROM Carts for their games, so you can't use an Adaptercart. Those games were obviously just released in Japan. Another great JP only game was Necronomicon. It's a pinball game made by the guys who also made Alien/Devil's/Jaki Crash. The music for Necronomicon was composed by the guitar player of Dream Theater. Also look out for Magic Knight Rayearth and Panzer Dragoon Saga. They are VERY expensive though.
I'm with Prosody on this one: Shining Force! I think there are a couple of them avaiable on the Saturn. It's the only reason i still have mine...although all of them are available on different consoles now iirc.
