Why is the game feel not like what you'd expect from a game and thus confusing yourself whether you like it or not?

Challenging conventions and innovating? That's exactly what many people want from games. Do you really ignore them simply because they have new gameplay mechanics that you haven't encountered before? You're making it sound like you don't ever want something new to come along because you wont be used to it and it'll "confuse" you; forcing you to realise on your own whether you enjoy it.

I was talking about game feel not gameplay. Game feel is the feelings the game gives to the player. For example, in Teslagrad, I don't know whether I should be upset in that game or not since the game feel got me confused due to it all being silent. The character does nothing even at the end making the game feel itself....dull.
