Topic: Is my Ps3 upload and download speed good?.....:(

I did a test on my PS3 and it said,
Download-856.1kbps
Upload-101.9kbps
One day....i had to update burnout paradise on my ps3 and it took like 3 hours to do it....i mean seriously..
Can anyone here tell me if its good or bad and i am wiredly connected to my wireless router and i got NAT TYPE 1 on my PS3. thanks.

3 hours? I don't have a PS3, but that can't be normal, can it? I think you're getting choked on your downloads there.

Thats my point.....i mean the online gameplay in games isn't laggy or anything but downloading games or updates from PSN is just serverly the worst thing i have ever encountered in a games console.....

Im not shelling out €120 for a new top-notch router.

Ok i went to my routers homepage and heres the download speed it said

So does this mean my PS3 is actually not in the wrong?
in other words my router can only download up to 1MB?

wired router has either a 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps wired connection, and, if it's wireless, up to 54.6 Mbps (802.11g)

that would be your Internet Connection speed, capped by your ISP...

1024 Kbps download, is about 128 KB/s download speed (max cap, average is usually less)

But also, don't worry, PS3 downloads are awfully slow... it takes about an hour or 2 to update on my 2.25 Mbps connection (275 KB/s average, 288 max cap)... the update before the last took almost 3 hours to complete (including install)... and downloads from the PSN Store aren't that faster either... of all my consoles, is the worst performer, download speed wise...

I think it has to do with where you are geographically... if you aren't in a PSN Store supported country, download speeds suffer, probably a server issue on Sony's side...... (it shouldn't, Xbox LIVE doesn't support my country either, but the downloads are the fastest of my consoles...)

I am currently living in europe with a american PS3, currently all downloaded games work, however add on content for CD european games do not. Is there a way to change the store to the euro or uk version so I can buy and download these add ons

@Sean.... IF it was the first time you updated Burnout it had ALOT of stuff to download and install. I always download and put my PS3 to auto turn off when its done. My PS3 seems to download pretty quickly.

Consider yourselves all lucky. My download speed on my computer is 24KB/s. No wonder I can never play online. AUSTRALIA, GET ME FASTER INTERNET!

24KB/s? Wow......do you live in a small town or in the country?

No. I live 15 minutes away from the Sydney CBD. And I have broadband, not dial-up.
