I don't think I ever said my main pet peeve. I've noticed this since Tales of Symphonia. I really hate inconsistent use of voice acting in...almost always it seems to be Japanese games. If a character is talking with voice acting in some scenes, they should have voice acting in every scene with them. At the bare minimum, every cutscene. It takes me out of the experience when you arbitrarily take out voice acting in scenes, when I know the character is supposed to be voiced. And it usually just feels like they couldn't bother paying the voice talent any more rather than any real reason. If you can't do that, then don't have voice acting. And if you're having elaborate cutscenes, you can afford it. But at least having no voice acting at all means I'm not taken out of the experience because its consistent.
