My brother recently gave me one of his PS2's, and my mom said I should ask for some ps2 games for Christmas, and I was wondering if y'all had any recommendations for like, chill games. And chill means like, rhyth games, cozy games, pretty much any game that isn't like, shooting (those can be fun but kinda boring). I also like racing games, but it's not what I'm looking for as I already have Jak X Combat Racing and The Fast and The Furious for ps2, but if you have any good recommendations for those, they're welcome too. Kids games are also open for recommendations. Pretty much anything besides for beat 'em ups and stuff.
Mods if this is too similar to another forum, I'm sorry feel free to take it down.

@EllaTheQueen6 I don't know if this is what you're looking for. Sly 2 Band of Thieves was my favorite of the Sly Cooper series on PS2. It's a platformer with some stealth.

Games in the Katamari Damacy series for sure. It has a bit of an arcade feel to it where the replay value comes from beating your best scores, but the gameplay is where it shines. This series is what I think of first when I think of a chill or relaxing game.

RPG Maker 2 and 3 are kind of relaxing, because you get to design your own RPG.
Also, Mojo, which is a game where you roll a ball to break blocks the same color as you.

When it comes to PS2, there arent many notable chillgames on it, but there are afew, and if your not bothered by it, id recommend some PS1 games too (since its backwards compatible)

PS1
Poy Poy is a game very much like Mario Party, it would be worth a look!
Incredible Crisis is like a Minigame collection, very chill!
Bust a Groove (a Rhythm game) difficult learning curve but still very fun once you get the hang of it!
Buster Bros Collection not really a shooter, but a puzzler where you have to clear the room of Balloons!
Monkey Hero is similar to a Zelda game if thats Chill for you.
Pandemonium 1&2 + Klonoa are 2.5D platformer puzzlers very unique for their time!

Bonus: Jade Cocoon 1 if you enjoy Monster Collecting like Pokemon, this would be up your alley!

PS2
Dokapon Kingdom is also very similar to Mario Party, however, this got a re-release recently if you prefer that
Besides Harvest Moon Save the Homeland, there is also A Wonderful Life Special Edition, it does have some frame issues, but if you can tolerate that its still an amazing game!
Legend of Kay is a Platformer Exploration game, which i havent played yet, but i can imagine it being very chill since it was targeted to younger audiences!
Lumines PLUS to fill the Itch for Puzzlers
And The Adventures of Cookie & Cream is an amazing 2 Player experience, but can also be enjoyed by yourself if need be. (but its WAY more fun 2P)

Bonus: Jade Cocoon 2 a bit more complex but still very good!

Yeah I'd say that only counts as a chill game if you're playing multiplayer, it gets incredibly difficult if you're on your own 😅

@Dogorilla

I didnt play much of it but i found it to be easy at first, guess it gets atrocious at the end?

Maybe Fantavision?

It's a fireworks themed puzzle/rhythm game as far as I remember. I don't think I ever got much past the first stage, so it might be hard (either that, or I just quickly moved on to other stuff like FFX).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@Lightgazer Yeah, I played through most of it on my own and it is easy at first but later on when you're trying to make tricky movements with two characters at the same time it can be maddening. The main problem is the time limit because you get a time penalty whenever you take damage, which is quite punishing when you have to do everything on your own. I ended up getting stuck on a boss fight a few levels away from the end of the game.

Jak and Daxter is a great 3D platformer.

@EllaTheQueen6 Ah, I see. Well then...how about Psychonauts? Only the best 3D platformer not enough people have played.
