ANNOUNCING THE KID ICARUS UPRISING 1V1 TOURNEY

Rules:
Best 3 out of 5 games, single elimination.
Redo rounds that end with a score of 0-0.
You can decide the time with your opponent.
Random Stage.
Items on, normal rate of appearance.
Banlist: (banlist subject to change, if you have any problems, say it)
Weapons: Brawlers, Raptors, Atlas Club, Eyetracks, Gemini, Taurus, Predator Cannon, Angel Bow, Capricorn Club
Powers: Slipshot, Bumblebee, Playing Dead, Trade-off
Aries Armor can be used if your opponent is fine by it, but not along with Libra Sponge.
Tourney bracket will be done randomly with challonge.
Registration will be open until 6 days from now (Friday Jan 25), then the brackets will be posted and you'll have to set up a time with your opponent.

Really? Banning Weapons? That makes no sense. I get the banned powers but come on.

I can tell you've never fought slip-tracks. it really means a lot. Sometimes I question it but the ones in this list are ok with me.

Trust me bro. I've fought slip tracks with +3 HOMING, HOMING BOOST, AND INVISIBLE SHOTS. I won't lie, I raged. XD He's actually really good anyway, so it didn't bother me as much as it would've otherwise.

@TheLilK98 They are banned because of unfair advantages they give the user in 1 vs 1, and this is a friendly competition, is it not? :3
If you are good, banning weapons should make no difference because you don't need them anyway.

Then you should understand the importance of a ban list.

I can see some of them (like how brawlers turn you into Sonic the Hedgehog on a diet consisting of Monster and energy bars) but I don't get some of them. Like the raptors.

But if you're good, you should have enough faith in your own strength to beat anybody, regardless of the weapon they use

Although I'd practice if I were you, as online has different levels than the story. :3

I'll join, I should practice playing online though, since I haven't played online in a while (Mario Kart 7), but I have a job, so i'll need to see when i'm available.

Yeah, everybody can join, regardless of skill level. It's a tourney just for fun, no prizes involved other than bragging rights.

What most people don't know about Brawlers and Raptors is that their cont fire has an amazing potential for cancelling out other shots. In fact, a Raptors or Brawlers user with Shot Cancellation +1 can just hold the L Button and avoid pretty much all damage. Brawlers outclass Raptors in terms of cancel, as they're faster and their cont fire spreads in a wider area, but Raptors can easily KO with only one melee combo (they only need 8.5 melee IIRC) while still being quite fast. Overall, that means they have an advantage for 1v1 first, where these problems are much more important since there is only 1 opponent.
But anyways, the banlist is not final yet, so if any of you have something to say, I'm open to it. And welcome to the players who have joined! Most of the players who have joined the tourney are in thread, so drop by if you need some help.
