@Psycho-Werekitsune IIRC Nintendo UK banned third-party retailers from selling download codes for Switch games a few years ago. Not sure what the reasoning for that is, as they can still sell DLC codes (you can often get DLC cheaper than the eShop price from sites like ShopTo), but not full games unfortunately.

Well, that's unfortunate, it would've made a bit of sense for maybe games that are sold physically at retail, but why download only games?

Guess I have to buy her some eShop points then and let her know what the intended purpose was.

I think it's on places like CDKeys? But it's sold out at the moment.
The website is legit but I'd always be scared of gifting something from there - what if it doesn't redeem!? My anxiety can't handle that

I think eShop cards is the way to go unfortunately. Or wait for a physical version

Just a little heads up. You can soft lock the game if you do save the game at the wrong place and time.
For example if you about to die and saving the game, and overriding a current and save savefile.
It almost happened to me in the beginning of 40 Fathoms in the second game... Drowning before getting out of the water and no savefile to back up. 😅

Anyone know if this game has some kind of online features that I'm missing? I was online to preorder and unlock the game, but have been offline since.

However, each time I boot it up I get an error saying that I'm offline. Then it gives me a list of networks which I can close...and the game seems to run normally?
At first I thought it was some DRM thing, but we're not on PC. And the game seems to run fine, I'm just not sure why it does this every.single.time

An update to the unexciting online restrictions - some of the doors/switches don't work if offline.

The first lever to open the door in the Great Wall level will work, but then immediately shut the door again if offline. Online? It works as it should. The recent patch didn't affect this.

A bit disappointing for a Switch game where we could be anywhere, but at least there's a workaround

@Kimyonaakuma Hmm, how bizarre, I ended up getting it on Steam, I imagine it's probably the same on all platforms? I might test this at some point, I don't like the idea of a game locking you out like that

Perhaps. With all of the developers listed I was expecting some kind of DRM. Don't know much about the Embracer group, but they're one of those publishers I don't particularly trust (like an EA, Ubisoft type of situation).

It just seems odd when it's a portable system, and hardly a big AAA release. Maybe they'll remove it in a few months.

Heads up to those updating to Patch 2: if your last save in Nevada was before the update, then there's a bug with the switch that changes the water current that causes the game to crash.

To fix this, you have to die and select "Restart Level". If you haven't been to Nevada yet then you should be fine.

This also applies to the new outfit added to "Nightmare in Vegas", the game won't crash, but if you load a pre-patch save for that level then she'll be wearing her normal outfit, die and select "Restart Level" to see her new Leopard outfit!

Eventually this might get a LRG physical so I can wait.
