Topic: There is -definitely- something wrong with the Switch (OLED at least.)

I have an earlier topic where I call the switch OLED garbage. In the topic I comment on how my OLED ( my second OLED in the space if a year) had stopped being able to connect to any and all WiFi signals, that it had caused some sort of burn mark around the right joycon release button, and that it had stopped wanting to recognize that a right joycon was attached to the system. Someone had asked me something along the lines of "how long ago did burn mark appear and how long ago did problems start?" I was unsure how long had passed between first use of switch to when any problem above began.

I bought a new OLED from GameStop on Tuesday August 2nd, 2022. On Friday August 5, 2022 I noticed that a burn mark had started to form around the right joycon release button. (I will put link to evidence of it in subsequent post).

I have -NOT- REPEAT -NOT- done any of the previous actions I was consulted to not do to prevent damage to switch (just in case I was doing something inadvertently to damage OLED.)I mean c'mon this is my third yes third OLED unit in a calendar year that has done the same thing (put burn mark around the right joycon release button) so far it hasn't stopped recognizing the right joycon being attached (I fear that will happen sooner rather than later): and it still connects to wifi.

The right joycon gets a burn mark around the release button on its third day of use what in the actual freaking freak is going on?

@AppleroseGrace The pic I just took a few minutes ago of the burn mark starting to form around right joycon release button on 3rd OLED unit

Does anyone else see or notice a burn mark on their right joycon around the release button? (In particular those who use OLED primarily in handheld mode.)

So, you don't charge it using the socket that everyone thinks caused the previous problems, @AppleroseGrace ....?

No, I only use the provided ac adaptor in the break room at work. No extension cord, no playing it for hours on end with it plugged in. I charge it while downloading games I own ( new OLED means have to redownload everything -big sigh lol- as I work with it outside of it's carrying case (to prevent heat buildup etc.

Uh, it's the socket it plugged into that was suggested to be the problem .... There's at least some here who've had OLEDs awhile & played plenty without any similar problems
When that can be ruled out.....

@AppleroseGrace I see the white-ish mark on the black switch tablet (near the release button). Looks like someone had sunscreen on their hands, left white residue.

Do you live with someone that might sneak to play your switch?

If you've had three new switch consoles using only OEM accessories and all have the same problem, statistically speaking, I think something/someone/environmental at your home is likely the factor. That's all I can deduce. Sorry about the mystery issue you're encountering.

My white oled from december doesn't have any discoloring/damage near the joycon release button.

Could someone that you work with be using it while you are working. That is all I can think of. I have had mine for six months and it is still in great condition.

I'm not sure why you're experiencing this issue, as ive never seen this happen myself. Surely, someone out there has also seen this and can provide some better assistance. Maybe you can contact nintendo customer support 😃?

This is 100% on your end. I've had my OLED for 6 months and it's fine. Calling something garbage knowing you have a special case is pretty silly. If you're mentioning charging it at your work there could be something wrong with the outlet putting out too much voltage. I would stop using that outlet at your work or in that room period. I've never heard of this before on any model.
