I would just like to thank developers for the current trend of making apparel a big part of their income from the games they make. I personally 'NEVER' change cloths. looks etc in game, even when it's a free option in the game. The only time I would ever change them if they give some sort of boost to stats. Hell I played Runesapce for 5 years and never once did I pay for membership. And I have played Fortnite for a few hundred hours and never paid a penny! No battle passes, no emotes just good fun and FREE gaming. Thank you Epic

But when discussing this with a few of younger relatives they all admitted to paying into games in this way, so am I the only one that is blessed with free gaming, or are there more of me out there?

Roll on with more free gaming please, devs (and thanks to people that do buy them)

I don't pay for skins or the like, but I accrued Fortnite v-bucks and completed a bunch of missions to be able to 'buy'/unlock Darth Maul and a few Clone Trooper variants in the recent Star Wars promotion. My kid was pissed cos they'd already spent their accrued v-bucks on another skin, so we did make an exception and spent a few quid so that they could get matching Darth Maul skin too. But that was very much a one-off.

For now at least...

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I play Fall Guys every now and then, but have never paid for anything, and I have quite a few skins and the like, but for no money.
When a game is free I don't like things are locked behind paywalls, but unfortunately thats how it is funded.
When a game is NOT free and things are locked behind paywalls for just little skins etc I think is robbery, but if it is for extra content (full blown levels and extended content) it is acceptable.

I AM ERROR

I don't really mind the option to pay for skins when they are optional. Some of the Minecraft skins for example make it feel like a different game so are definitely worth extra money.

In general I prefer skins I can buy with in-game currency you can earn. Some games don't balance free versus paid skins very well and make F2P people look bad, but (for example Fall Guys) has an ok balance because you can get quite nice skins just by playing. I love the ability to change clothes/fashion in games so I occasionally buy a cheap DLC for it, but I'm also not one of those people willing to pay like $100 on skins or outfits. Maybe $7.

@RandyWilkins Out of curiosity, are you a bot? Looking at your comment history, I'm going to say definitely yes.
