Topic: Scrapped Switch Ports

So i remember seeing random rumors around sites like 4chan (unfortuantely i don't have pics or sources to prove that so i'm sorry) saying that these companies planned to port their games on the switch but ultimately didn't simply because of the hardware not handling them:

Sega: Persona 5 Royal, Yakuza series, Sakura Wars 2019, PSO2 and Judgement

Capcom: Resident Evil 2 Remake, 3 Remake, 7, 8, Devil May Cry 5, Street Fighter 5 and Monster Hunter World

Bandai Namco: Tales of Arise, Code Vein, Scarlet Nexus, Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6

Arc System Works: Guilty Gear Xrd (i don't know which version) and Guilty Gear Strive

SNK: King of Fighters 14 and 15

Koei Tecmo: Nioh 1 and 2, Dead or Alive 6

Square Enix: Final Fantasy 15, Kingdom Hearts series, Nier Automata & Replicant, Tomb Raider 2013, Rise & Shadow and Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Nihon Falcom: Kuro no Kiseki

Rockstar: GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Ubisoft: Far Cry 5 & 6, Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey & Valhalla and Watch Dogs 2

Bethesda: Fallout New Vegas & 4, Prey and The Evil Within Duology

EA: Mass Effect, Dragon Age Inquisition & Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Ultimately, 4chan rumours are 99% unreliable. Also there are a bunch of games there that Switch could run easily- there are PS3/Xbox 360 games on that list!

@BoredMate62 You can not trust 4 chan whatsoever. there fake most of the time.

Ridge Racer 8 was suppose to be a Switch exclusive, developed by Bandai Namco Singapore, but was quietly cancelled.

@BoredMate62 I think it's looking like Genshin Impact was scrapped. (unless someone knows of news to the contrary)

Genshin Impact is one game I wish they make Switch Portable. It would drive the sales through the roof it's whether they will do it. But they don't realize it yet.

I think we are gonna see some of them on Switch's successor.

I personally would love to see The Evil Within, Final Fantasy XV and the Tomb Raider reboot on the Switch at some point!

@BoredMate62 Not likely that any of these are actually real, given it came from 4chan and anyone can make a fake leak. The Final Fantasy XV port was just the port of the pocket edition. The NieR one was just speculation. Most of these games wouldn't run on switch anyways.

Street Fighter V alone makes this list bogus. That game is Sony exclusive the same way that Bayonetta 2 and 3 are Nintendo exclusive. It will never come to Xbox or Nintendo without Sony's approval.

Also as mentioned above there's PS3/360 games on that list which the Switch should have no problem running, such as Tomb Raider 2013.

@IceClimbers Yeah, the list is effectively "here's some rumors that were posted to 4Chan, people saw them as reputable (Since they trust "insiders" or anyone claiming to be one), and since they never happened, they must have been canned right? Right?!".

People just don't get anymore that anyone can make a fake leak, and green text "leaks" are the absolute easiest to fake, given you don't have to provide any proof. Some of these games listed here were added because Devs expressed interest porting some games to switch (Like in Final Fantasy XV's case, which we later found out that the devs wanted a mobile version on switch, as the game can't run on a console that's less powerful than a ps4), or games like NieR, which Replicant referenced Switch in it's code or something, so they probably made some sort of attempt or thought towards bringing it to switch, but couldn't get it running right. However for the rest of these (like persona 5 Royal), they were simply never intended to release on Switch, or any platform outside of their exclusive platform, so these were ports made up in the minds of people who wanted these games on the system, instead of just simply buying the system they're exclusive to.
