Topic: Can all switch users on my console access ACNH DLC if I get NSO Expansion?

We only have one switch which me and my wife share but we both have an account to play animal crossing on the same island. If I bought the Nintendo online+ expansion would she be able to play the happy home stuff or will I need a family pass?
Does anyone know?

@Sparrow5579 I think you need the family pass if you are using more than one Switch account.

Ah okay, I had a feeling that was the case. Cheers @Kermit1

Actually I think @Kermit1 is wrong. Yes online is per account but DLC and purchases are per console. Also Animal Crossing is a single island per console

@skywake All my switch users can access my purchased DLC for BOTW & Splatoon 2, but @Sparrow5579 is talking about DLC-access granted via NSO expansion. Can all switch users access NSO expansion games? I see why @Sparrow5579 is asking, since DLC access is being granted differently. But maybe dlc access is still the same, and it's available to all switch users on the console, even if it's from NSO Expansion.

So, @Sparrow5579.... maybe!?!? 😆 Probably? 😁

Can two users share a Nintendo online account?

Yes, you can. Even if your family members are using their accounts on different Nintendo Switch consoles, if you have a Family Membership and create a Family Group, then each account can use the Nintendo Swich Online services.

It's oddly hard to find info on if 2 accounts can share Switch Online Expansion together.

@WoomyNNYes this is what is confusing because we are happy to use one account for pretty much everything else that comes with the expansion pass it's just the happy home stuff but then we share an island. If DLC is shareable then I don't know how they would monitor if you got it via the expansion pass or not

@Sparrow5579 For better attention/clarity, maybe change the thread title to, "Can all switch users on my console access ACNH DLC if I get NSO Expansion?". Or if you can think of a better way to phrase it, go for it.

@Kermit1 yes it's very confusing to find the information as with Nintendo online it clear that multiple accounts need a family pass but then there's nothing to explain the DLC side or for instance a shared island on animal crossing

@WoomyNNYes good idea, I will do that 👍

@WoomyNNYes Not sure you can edit a topic, unless you know how to? I not been on these forums for that long so still learning! (actually this the first forum I ever signed up to)

idk if this helps but I bought happy home DLC and both of my profiles can use it even without an account. The DLC is not co-op though but you can (via codes) visit each other's homes you've made.

Yes it does help, in theory then it should work on both accounts, I can't see how they can monitor if it's expansion pass or paid DLC really

@Sparrow5579 I'd say your safe to buy the DLC then. I think it's all internet account based if you buy the expansion.

@Kermit1 it's the expansion pass I want to get as I'm interested in the retro games like the N64 and stuff and my wife wants to try the happy home DLC 🤔 I might just try it, let y'all know and if I have to you can upgrade to family pass 👍
