VGA doesn't transmit audio, only video signal. So no the HDMI to VGA converter will drop the audio signal.
If Your VGA monitor has builtin speakers, it must have a mini Jack in port. So just use a mini Jack to mini Jack audio cable between the switch and your monitor.
Unless the Switch drops headphone audio out and only sends out audio via HDMI out the moment it's docked. You just have to try, when you get it.

@Jeronan so it is possible that the hdmi will block the switch audio jack,
i'm asking because i want to plug the dock to my pc monitor
and it doesn't has any speakers

Well if your PC monitor doesn't have any speakers, you just have to test it out with headphones via the headphone out on the Switch and hope it doesn't get disabled when docked.

Yes. That might actually work. Nice find!

I am also trying to play my Switch thru the PC monitor and separate speakers and having no luck.
As soon as I put it in the dock the audio drops and starts buzzing, unplug Switch from dock and sound suddenly comes out of speakers.

Why is this a problem as soon as I dock it?
Headphones work fine when its docked.
