Hi everyone! Just wondering what you all do for organizing and labeling your microSD memory cards. I am beginning to fill up memory cards with games but need an efficient way to store them and label them so I know what is on each one. Any ideas or suggestions? I’m sure there’s a bunch of clever ways out there. Thanks everyone!

More info? Size and how much games are you storing Internal Storage vs SD storage? If your using anything smaller then 256-512gb then your going to run into problem. 1tb is fairly inexpensive right now so if you have loaded lots of games it's time to consider a larger capacity sd card. And making sure your system is set to use the sd for storage and only the internal for saves.

@ChoachMcGoach I have a case I bought off of Amazon for specifically made for micro sd cards they make different sizes...mine holds 30. It comes with small numbered labels that you can put on the card. I then have an spreadsheet in Exel (you could use pad/pen) that has the number and then a discription of what is on it.

I bought this from Etsy. It stores 2 extra micro SD cards, so I can keep a 1TB in the Switch, and another two spare 1TB micro SD cards in this cartridge holder.

Then I keep the 1TB of best games on the main SD, and all the others I split between the two backup SDs. I do A-M on the top SD, with N-Z on the bottom SD.

This ensures I have my entire digital library with me, without having to use a larger case that stores microSD cards and risks them falling out or getting lost.

@AegisPrime Vita had $ony proprietary memory cards. Those was one of the biggest Factor Vita died because of it. Were talking microSD cards that is used in a variety of hardware. Two very different propositions' here. microSD can be reused $ony memory cards can't be used in anything else. microSD had more options and uses as opposed to Vita Memory.

@AegisPrime not a bad idea to have one card with all your current and “active” games while another just kinda stores the older ones.
I use the on-board/internal just for the game saves. Thanks for the suggestion!

@WalkerMoo24 This is the basic idea I had in mind for storing and labeling. I’ll have to shop around. Thanks!

@JaxonH Another great and organized suggestion. I’ll have to look around on Etsy and Amazon to find something like this. Thanks for the ideas and sharing the pics.

I would never use microSD cards for long-term storage in that fashion. In devices like the Switch, I like to use only one card at a time, and I’ll upgrade to a larger size if I need to. I’m currently using a 400GB card in my main, and I strongly doubt I’ll need any more as I still have plenty of room to spare (plus, the overwhelming majority of my library is physical). Cards that have been replaced will typically be given away or used for another device, such as the Switch Lite.

@Silly_G The nice thing is that any games that I don’t have physical copies of (cartridge), I can always redownload at a later date if need be. This probably would work fine for me (to delete a game once I’ve finished it) thus never really needing more than one memory card at a time, because I’m not typically the type to be playing multiple games at once. I like to concentrate on one and move to the next rather than bounce around playing multiple at a time. I guess I just have trust issues that for who knows what reason I wouldn’t be able to redownload if I needed to.

@ChoachMcGoach : I don’t like deleting games that I have paid for, so I want everything to be on the microSD at any time, even if I’m done with it and don’t intend to play it again any time soon (if ever). I’m a bit of a hoarder like that, but that’s also likely due to my inner preservationist, as I don’t like deleting things that may come useful later (especially with respect to video footage).

Problem is with Digital games as we all comes to find if they are gone - gone they are gone. It has happened don't say it won't. This is why have I it downloaded or Physical cart is the reason one wants to keep their sd card. Digital is more tricky as it takes up more sd space and Physical only is the update and DLC updates. That bows in favor of why one wants the Physical game (minus the cost). Also you can't transfer Digital games to anyone else besides the account holder of it. That's why Physical is more wanted by people overall you aren't restricted to one account but any Switch can load and play it. I have a 1tb with about 500gigs left but that doesn't mean I can fill that either when loading my games. So that tells you my library volume loaded so far not those yet to be loaded up. So having a 2tb if that comes along with allow me to loaded up all my waiting games and DLC/updates so I can play without loosing sd space for Digital Game download rather that is used for DLC/updates only. This is where Digital vs. Physical with Physical winning by wide margins in. Load time is the same regardless as it's using a medium to load from to start with.

You’d be surprised how fast it fills up. There’s a ton of 20-30 GB games on Switch, and a truckload of 10-20 GB games.
