Looking for help

My son needs 2fa on his switch lite for fortnite. He has a family account on my Nintendo account. When I link the account it only links to the parent account. Can anyone tell me if linking his child account to a full epic account is possible.

Many thanks

@SimonL
1) I don't know what "needs 2fa" means. (maybe that's a typo?)
2)There's more than one link with the Switch, so I'm not sure which link you're talking about.

You link a Switch user profile to a Nintendo account(an account on Nintendo's website).
Switch User --> Nintendo account (can be a child account, or another nintendo account with unique email address)

When you load Fortnite as a Switch user for the first time, you have to sign into Epic Games to link to a Fortnite game profile.
Fortnite game --> Epic Games account

If you're still stuck, you may need to contact epicgames Fornite support, unless someone else here can help parse your situation out.

@SimonL He doesn't need 2fa, no reason for it, lol. One of his online friends is probably BEGGING him to get him to gift them vbucks or skins. 2fa verification is for that. I would not bother. It defaulting to the parent account is probably totally intentional. In fact the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that MAYBE you are the kid. lol
