Topic: DOOM on Nintendo Switch (BEFORE I BUY)

Okay so I'm looking for a good arena shooter. I have a Nintendo Switch, I was thinking of getting DOOM. Only for the multiplayer component in the game. So alas the question is: Is the doom server game on Nintendo Switch still populated? Many post say it is, may post say it isn't. So anyone who owns the game, please post on here to tell me the status of the multiplayer.

That being said, I think that is the only Arena Shooter I'd really play. I am not really of a fan of quake champions, quake live only has clan matches, and doom on PC is probably dead.. So I'm really hoping DOOM on switch is active.

I've never had issues finding a match, but keep in mind that Doom Eternal is coming "soon" and many people will move on to the new game. That said, I can't think of any alternative suggestions for you (and I'm guessing Splatoon isn't your thing).

Wow, so I should buy eh? I really want to play DOOM on my switch. Arena games = my favorite games and Switch = my favorite console. I'll be getting doom full price I guess. It is too bad I was broke when they had the 50% off sale.

@TAKEONE101 I think you might want to wait for the new game - if you're limited on cash. When the new game comes out, most people will probably play there.

Should I get DOOM for a Arena game, or is there another Arena game I should get ?

@TAKEONE101 I don't think there are any other arena games unfortunately. I grew up with Quake III and Unreal Tournament, so it sucks the genre kinda died out.

I tried Doom multiplayer a year or two ago and it seemed pretty dead to me. But I didn't really try again after that, so take it with a grain of salt.

It's a fantastic arena game, but yea, playing it on Switch the community is not a healthy size. It's probably not even doing so hot on the other consoles anymore either to be honest because of Eternal.

So safe to say their isn't many players on DOOM via Switch.
