Drop it to 1080p, I say. My eyes won't be able to tell the difference. I'll be playing it mostly handheld, anyway, and I want this all on the cart! Me me me! lol
Sorry, just realized how pathetic and selfish I sounded toward the end there.
Great game to have and great for the Switch. They better make sure there is absolutely no issues with latency and such. Timing jumps is ridiculous in this game.
Hard pass for me as I hated the original trilogy. However, still glad to see it coming for both the fans who want this and as a sign of how far the Switch has come in one year.
So as far as I can tell, this game isn't getting a Japanese release? I am actually importing an American copy. I can only find the PS4 version listed on Amazon Japan and it isn't listed in the Japanese eshop last time I checked. Anyone have any idea why?

@Mrtoad That's quite odd, considering the game has already been localized in the needed languages. I will be curious if the American copy supports Japanese, that will be even weirder. But not too shocking since the American release of Stardew Valley had Japanese well before the game actually popped up on the Japanese eshop.

@Heavyarms55 : Strangely, this happens quite often with Western releases in Japan. It must have something to do with delays in securing retail partners to carry Western games, perhaps, because unless the game is a digital only release, I can't think of many other reasons why a game would not be released in Japan at the same time as everywhere else.
Similarly, DOOM was released earlier this year in Japan even though it had been released six months prior in the west (Japanese was supported from the get go). I thought perhaps that it may have had something to do with the Japanese version being shipped on a 32GB cartridge instead, but alas, that is not the case. Western games generally are probably a tougher sell there.
@Silly_G
You know, Crash Bandicoot has Different looking on Japanese version cover and some Minor changes inside the game.
Japanese gamers still expect Kawaii looking than Naughty Western style looking.
That's why they need a time to "censor" the cringe things from Western, replace them with something acceptable for Japanese audiences.
@Mrtoad That is really odd. I wonder what possible reason there would be to not release at the same time then.
Usually theres is an external company handling distribution and sales for a specific region. The company that does the marketing and sales for Crash in Europa/N.A. might not have any rights to do so in Japan (for obvious reasons like lack of coverage). So maybe the Japanese distributor is working a bit slower or there is no one who secured the rights yet (price negotiations, etc.).
Digital downloads change the market quite a bit. Indies don't have a distributor and their marketing is mostly "word of mouth" and free download codes for reviewers and streamers. But larger titles like those that print adds, create events, etc. have much more to do. So if you ever meet somebody on the streets who says "I'm in marketing and I work for XYZ" (XYZ = gaming company), ask him if his contract really says XYZ. Because probably the contract is for a different company that acts as sales agent with XYZ as a client.
@Anti-Matter what does acceptable for Japanese audiece mean? Japan has that phone sex game on the eshop, and Japan as a culture created things like adults only anime
So it's arriving next week on Europe at least. I have a 10 euro coupon that makes it 25 €.
I played a little back in the 90s in my cousin's PlayStation (I had a Saturn), and I don't remember much but I think I liked it. The thing is years later I was given a PS and bought the first Crash Bandicoot... never played it. Backlog.
Now I have mixed feelings with this compilation: 2 more games I never had, portability... I hope it won't disappoint me, but... what if it's a bad port? I have an Xbox One too... with better graphics and achievements, you know. And on Xbox One, as usual, this title will be purchasable for 10 € or less at some point.
