I think you need to have animals to produce the fertilizer for you

I will, just as soon as I learn how to play this game. The way I’m driving my machinery, I’ll kill all my animals on the way to the farm.

Animal manure isn't the only way to get fertilizer. You can also deliver chaff or mowed grass to the biogas plant and they will turn that stuff into silage. It also produces compost as a by-product, which you can fill your slurry tank with to fertilize your fields.

The manual says a lot of this stuff, but it doesn't tell you everything. Take a read when you can.

Great to see someone your age still getting into gaming. And it's just as good for keeping the mind active as puzzling or any other cerebral activity. Might even help keeping the hands in shape...

@ThanosReXXX That is one that I have been thinking a lot about as of late, also I think Siberia 1, 2 & 3. My farming simulator is the Nintendo Switch edition and I do not think that version has animals. If it does, I can’t find them. I bought the Nintendo Switch because of the game Breath of the Wild Zelda game. Console and game about $380.00. I am really liking this farming game but I understand that it is much better on ps4 or xbox. Looks like I will have to spend another $500.00 so I can get a complete game.well worth it for me.

@Freelance I have the Switch version which comes with no manual. Still trying to figure how to sell back some stuff I purchased by mistake. Bought 4 power washers thinking I bought 1. Don’t ask.I will certainly look to doing just that (the slurring thing).

I would focus on just planting and harvesting for a while while you figure things out.

There's no immediate need for fertilizing or washing or stuff like that.

Make money with easy stuff like wheat to start.

@tkvalead Well, if you want to go all the way on that note, then you might want to check out the Xbox One X during Black Friday. Will probably be a bit cheaper than $500...

And it is, at this moment, the most powerful console. For some people that doesn't matter, because they have a far wider taste than others, so they'd probably go for the PS4/PS4 Pro, but that farming game you want, is also on Xbox, and so is L.A. Noire, if I piqued your interest in that title as well. And on that console, both graphics and performance are best.

Probably has better looking farm animals as well...
(nah, just kidding. Graphics for that game are more or less on par, except performance will still be better on the Xbox One X)

Switch version has NO MANUAL? How weird. Vita and 3DS versions had digital manuals. It's odd that Switch doesn't have one, and this sort of game needs a manual.

Well if you need help I can try to help if I remember stuff. I haven't played in a while. Yes, there's no need to fertilize yet. Just concentrate on planting and harvesting for now.

@Yosheel That is pretty much all I have been doing, actually hard to keep at first. Decided I need a little note book to keep track of the fields and where I stand with them. Actually was able to do a couple of missions and earn a few extra bucks. All seems well in my little farming community.

Soon you'll be the proud owner of the entire town.

Yeah just enjoy it portably as a switch game

@ReaderRagfish I do not believe you can purchase mods for switch. It also lacks animals as far as I can see. I’m sure enjoying what I have though.

@Yosheel I would but my eye sight is pretty bad. I play on my 65” tv screen. So I purchased a low boy trailer and dolly thinking I could purchase my seeds and fertilizer, place the pallets on them and haul them to the farm. Tracker could not pull the trailer, so a bought a truck it also could not pull the trailer. Sold the truck and dolly back, but could not move the trailer in order to sell it back. Any suggestions?

This post was directly responsible for me starting a new farm in Stardew Valley. The game had already consumed 155 hours of my life and now I am another 10 hours into a new farm.

@Heavyarms55 I have had this game 5 days and already have 47 hrs., can not get enough of this game. Loving every minute.

@tkvalead Oh my God! You played it 47 hours in only 5 days?! That's impressive! That's over 9 hours a day on average! Incredible!

@Heavyarms55 I am 75 yrs. old, retired and have nothing better to do. It keeps my mind healthy and alert. It damn sure beats watching tv all day. It’s also very relaxing. Very enjoyable game for me.

Please remember to take breaks every now and then to let your eyes and hands rest for a few minutes.

Of course with game being this game, that’s probably very easy to do, since there’s definitely lots of waiting time!

Well gentlemen, it has been 8 days of playing farming simulator and I have 73 hrs of absolute enjoyment. Still going strong.
