The term hub is meaningless here, and I still don't understand why others are using it in relation to this game. A hub is a central location where important activities take place. Skywalker Saga is an open world game by virtue of... well... it having plenty of freely explorable planets that can be travelled between at will.

It's also kind of annoying how people still want a hub like the cantina or Dex's Diner purely for nostalgia and novelty, when they could implement a system where you can use the navigation within any vehicle or ship to be able to access the levels instead. I guess if you really want to have that included as a nice nod to the originals, each episode could have its own place where you can access the levels. So Dex's Diner could be used to access Attack of the Clones levels while the cantina could be used for A New Hope's levels. But I'd still want the immediate access option available, too.

Placeholder dates are always the very last day of a year. It's just easier than putting any other date in. These placeholder dates are usually visible on the store page until they decide to clean them up. The page either needed a date to be added so it wouldn't get kicked off the database, or they've been updating the page and accidentally allowed the placeholder date to show.

I very much doubt we'll be hearing anything else this year, except for maybe the account getting a post or two to celebrate the launch of the second season of The Mandalorian.

More info is finally coming next week during Gamescom's Opening Night Live, Wed. August 25 at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 7 pm BST / 8 pm CEST.

Hopefully we'll get a definitive release date that sticks; with luck, still in this year.

It will be good to see more of it. And indeed get a final release date that will be hit. Hopeful for November, but I don't mind if it's next year. The last third of this month is packed already.

Anyone here also find that the pre order from Game (UK) exclusive got cancelled this week due to a "processing error". They then said you can reorder, but now you have to pay shipping. Pretty sure this is another terrible practice where they just cancelled orders and make you reorder to get another £5 off customers.

What kind of a company says we screwed up, but it's OK, you can pay us more to fix our screw up. Why do companies keep putting exclusives to Game UK. Awful company.

Switch version seems to have turned out pretty great overall!

And the game itself seems much more interesting than past LEGO games. I've never really been able to get into these games without getting bored pretty quick. But this one looks fire. Love the voice acting taken from the movies, love the slightly deeper combat and skill trees... it may not be super deep or anything but just being able to combo now and unlock skills for character types, that adds a lot of appeal for me.

And the sheer breadth of content. 3 complete trilogies covering 9 films? They sold entire games based off just one film in the past (Force Awakens), at the most a single trilogy. And not only are 9 episodes included, they reimagined and overhauled the ones in previous game releases.

I've always just ignored LEGO games, for the most part. But this one legit has me hyped.

The game is waiting for the 5th on both my Xbox and Switch. This will be an absolutely great experience.

From the photos on the tweet the switch version looks good. That is all I could get out of it though as I don’t speak ........ I think it’s Spanish?

There is some other footage released from an early copy on Switch, and feedback is likewise positive.

Wish it had gyro aiming. May grab on Steam down the line for that, but for now Switch will do.

14 hours till release (in the UK) and no reviews yet? Always a bit of a worry, although my copy is arriving tomorrow regardless!

That's French, which I don't speak very well but I can gather they're saying it looks and plays great in handheld mode and the HD rumble is perfect.

I won't be getting the game right away but I'm glad it seems to have turned out so well. I like Lego games but I've only played a few as they're mostly pretty similar, so it's nice to see this one properly pushing the series forward for maybe the first time since Lego City Undercover.

@ch37 To be fair, most LEGO games don't even get their reviews until after the release. If we get it a day before, we should count ourselves lucky.

@Dogorilla
Well good to know. I am hyped for this game but I won’t be getting it for about a month. It’s a lego game after all, so it will be discounted about 75% every other week.
