Hello

Sorry in advance if it is asked before but I could not find in the forum. I am living in Germany, thus all eshop downloads are automatically German. Since my German is not good, I set my current location as UK (so Eshop is English) and when I need to create a Nintendo ID, my ID location became UK.

The problem is; I want to purchase something on eshop (pokebank for example) but the currency is in Pound because of the location set, and I will get some Euro Eshop cards. If I deposit Euro credits to my Nintendo ID and wanna purchase something in Pounds, can I purchase it? For instance, Pokebank is 5 Pounds (which is around 7 Euro).. If I wanna buy it, is going to cut 7 Euro from my account or give an error and wont buy?

Thanks for your answers

If you have a visa/credit card, use that, as that will prevent this problem to begin with. I'm not sure if euro point cards will work with an UK account in the first place. Your eShop only displays one currency, so it's impossible to have euros on an UK account.

Thanks for your answer. What if I delete my current ID, then create a new one which shows location as Germany and link that new ID with Eshop ?? Is it possible to do something like that to fix the problem ?

I think you're better off waiting for someone else to answer that question. All I know is that it's quite the hassle to change anything about your ID. If you don't mind losing a few bucks, you can always buy the least expensive eShop card and try it out yourself.

I fixed the problem !! Deleting the current ID and creating a new works.. I set the right location in my new ID, so now Eshop asks for Euro instead of Pounds..

That only works because you had no games, if you had games in your old ID deleting it would have made you lose your games forever... that's why Nintendo system sucks

You should be able to pay in £ with a reasonable conversion rate.

It is one of the EU rules that you cannot rip people off like that.

(Same way I can pay in € always if I need to. But in $ I need to use the right card otherwise I get hammered by a transaction fee.)

Another option is buying the eshop codes from cdkeys.com - Costs about £13.30 for £15. (5% code that can be used on its normal price of £14).

Another option is putting the country as Ireland (Uses English and the Euro).
