Topic: Brand new DSI not working!! Please help??

Just bought by daughters DSI's for Christmas. One works, one doesn't. When you power it on, it goes to the "Warning-Review Safety info" page and then will do nothing else. I am able to calibrate the touch screen but after it asks you to shut down, same thing. If flashes "touch screen to continue" on the warning page but it does not respond. No matter what button I push, trying to use a game, it just won't work. I am new to this product, Nintendo phone support is closed and their websites are down.

Can someone help please?? There is no troubleshooting scenario in the book that matches my problem.

Sounds like it needs sending to Nintendo for repairs. All Nintendo hardware have a 1-year guarantee so provided you still have the receipt it'll be free to repair. But since it's new it'll probably be quicker to just return it to the store and exchange it for a new one.

Thnx. Called Nintendo this morning and they said the same thing. Luckily the store didn't play the "no returns on opened electronics" and we got the very last blue one(the color my daughter wanted)! So, all good now. Thanks though.

Yay, that's good to hear. I don't get that no returns on opened electronics rule at all. If you didn't open it, how would you know it was broken? Stupid shops...

Hey ssc73, glad to hear that you got this sorted. I've never heard of this problem before but thank goodness the store swapped it over, and for a blue one too. It all came out good in the end!
