Make sure their Switch user profiles are linked to their Nintendo accounts (from the family group). On the Switch go to "System Settings" -> "User" -> Select the user profile -> "Link to a Nintendo Account" -> then sign in the the account.

@chardir Thanks for the quick response! I will try this when I get home.

Yeah you need to add their mynintendo account to the family plan (either their email address or do that strange child add); then link their switch profile to their mynintendo account.

@chardir I tried it but she is already signed in(linked). But when she goes into the lobby in Splatoon3 and tries to play online, it says she needs her own Nintendo account

@Dibloafer911 Then your kid's switch user profile is not linked to a nintnedo account that is subscribed to NSO, or that account was not successfully linked to an NSO family plan?

I'm assuming you added the kid account without using a second email address? I know you can do that, but I dont' have experience with that way of doing it. There are two ways to make a child account. One way is without needing a new email address to create the nintendo accout. The other way is by making the nintendo account with it's own email address (you cannot use an email address for more than one nintendo account). I'm just reviewing here, because diagnosing where your problem is likely depends on knowing how you created the child account. If you remain stuck, you may need to talk to nintendo support to figure out where the snag is.
