Topic: The Book Suggestion Thread

@Heavyarms55 really appreciate the detailed post. I haven’t read the Thrawn books, but they are on my list. I liked The Road too - but man, it is dark! Also agree that Ready, Player One and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep are great. The Martian is another in that vein where the movies are good, but the book is better.

In the spirit of recommending great science fiction, one of my personal favorites in recent years is Wool by Hugh Howey, for anyone who likes post-apocalyptic stuff. Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter and Recursion are both good picks for brainy thrillers. I liked Dark Matter better, but they’re both great. I know it’s a streaming series (haven’t seen it), but Stephen King’s 11/22/63 is also really good. If time travel thrillers are your jam, John Birmingham’s Axis of Time series is great too.

@Chimera_Police The Road really is dark. It's the only book I ever had to put down for the day and come back later.
