Does anyone know of any sites where you upload a song or music file, select what portions to cut, and download a MP3 file that works as a ringtone?
I know that a lot of them are scams, probably the ad on this page included. I just need one that isn't full of viruses, I've been down that road before.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Can any MP3 file be used for ringtones (I don't know much about them, my phone's about 10 years old and barely handles polyphonic)? If so, you might be better downloading Audacity and chopping the portions up in that.

As long as it is under 300KB, then yeah, it can. On my phone, at least.

@RWP - iRinger does everything for you and allows 30 second snipits if you have an iPhone. But yeah...it's really quite easy to do. Honestly, you could do it with Sound Recorder and Media Player with little to no problems--just do a bit of research to see what kind of file your phone uses as ringtones (and what bitrate--I know Windows Mobile 5 had that issue if the .wma files were too high-quality the OS wouldn't see them, and thusly they couldn't be selected as ringtones)
