@Snatcher don't know about you but absolutely loved the collection. Thought it was a perfect. Although I wouldn't have minded them also adding galaxy 2.

I am extremely curious what Nintendo will do to celebrate Mario’s 100th anniversary but I will not be around by then to know

@1UP_MARIO That one was arguably even lazier than this one because Nintendo rereleased a game from 1993... it must have been legitimately saddening.

Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Persona 4 Golden
Dragon Quest XI S
F1 23
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

@TheJGG it was but it was also retailed nearly half the price. Came with a Mario music cd a history booklet. It was presented better and the box alone felt like a anniversary.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

@1UP_MARIO nice but I agree with @TheJGG that it was lazy.

30th anniversary was the best for Mario fans but it was on the Wii U. Super Mario maker.

Thing is the 25th Anniversary Collection does look like a collectors item, far more so than 3D All Stars which didn't have a stell book case, fancy manual or anything extra.

@1UP_MARIO @MetalToad Yeah, the thirtieth was the best, thinking about it. Mario Maker was very uncharted territory for the Mario series as a whole and it was a resounding success. 35 was alright considering COVID but it’s bittersweet because of the limited time of availability.

@jump it didn’t have fancy stuff but it had the better collection of games

@MetalToad I wouldn't say that myself. As a collection it feels off, everytime I play it I think where's Galaxy 2.

30th Mario was the best no argument there from me.

@MetalToad 2d all stars felt like a collection
3d all stars felt incomplete without galaxy 2. It even opens up the menu screen with galaxy 2s star tune

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

It’s disappointing we in UK/Europe didn’t get that special Mario 35th anniversary pins

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

@MetalToad okay 😀

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

I'd rank them 35th, 25th, 30th.

  • 35th - 3D All Stars is limited time and missing Galaxy 2 (which is bad) but 35th anniversary also had 3D World + Bowser's Fury
  • 25th - All Stars should really have been Wii VC with Galaxy 2 (the other 25th anniversary Mario game) getting the special physical treatment instead (think Skyward Sword for Zelda 25th)
  • 30th - Mario Maker was a good game but 2015 was very much confirmation that Nintendo had given up on Wii U

@MetalToad That's kinda subjective since they are all driven by nostalgia more so than today's standards of gaming. Even then some people will argue Super Mario Bros 3 is better than Galaxy, Super Mario Bros 1 is more important than 64 to gaming etc so each to their own.

@jump true. It’s subjective. It’s a personal opinion
