I never owned a DS so I've never played one and as 3DS aren't being made anymore (Also 3DS would mess my eyes up) is a 2DS still worth it? I would mainly use it for the likes of Pokémon, which btw can I play 3DS Pokémon games? I'll love to replay my favourite game, Crystal.

I would recommend it if you're looking for a cheap way to play a variety of Nintendo games. Although very few titles are being released, the console has a solid 8-year library on its back, plus it's backwards compatible with the DS library if you want to give that a go.

2DS XL is able to play all 3DS family games, including "New 3DS exclusives" like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, and SNES virtual console.

It's a great console for Pokemon as well. You'll have access to all the 3DS Pokemon games (X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon), the 3DS virtual console Pokemon releases (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal), and all of the DS Pokemon games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black, White, Black 2, White 2).

If you want one then sure yes it’s worth it.

If you're a graphics nut and/or prefer larger screens, then it probably won't do much for you.

If you want access to an awesome 3DS library, backwards compatibility with most DS games (minus those few that required a peripheral in the GBA slot of the original DS models), and a pretty meaty eshop, then yes, get one.

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

Reckon so if you havent played anything of the 3DS or DS library. Should be plenty of bargains out there to make a decent sized collection. I'm pretty sure once Nintendo throws their arms up and announce "We're not making 3DS/2DS Consoles or games anymore" which should be not much longer, then stores are going to be massively discounting their 3DS stock to get rid.

Most worth it video game console atm. Access to a huge variety of great games at great price points. I'm still playing my 3DS and I've had it since launch.

They in fact do still sell the New Nintendo 3DS XL, at least in the Americas. I absolutely recommend getting it instead of the New Nintendo 2DS XL. The only difference is that the 3DS has 3D and the 2DS doesn't, but the 3D effect is really amazing. If you have some kind of eye-related disability or other problem that you feel would make using the 3D unsafe, then go ahead and get the 2DS. Otherwise, I recommend the 3DS

@Terry94 If you never owned a DS or 3DS then it doesn't matter that they are done making games (more or less) since there is an insanely huge library of great titles between both systems, and a New 2DS XL can play all of them. There is no 3DS title where the 3D is actually required. My biggest reccomendations would be the Pokemon titles: Platinum, and either Heart Gold or Soul Silver Black/White, B2/W2 (you don't need Diamond/Pearl or both HG/SS) All the Fire Emblem titles, Advance Wars Dual Strike, then one of each of Pokemon X/Y, Alpha Sapphire Omega Ruby and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (again you only need one of each set. There's also Zelda a Link Between Worlds, Mario Kart 7 and a lovely selection of JRPGs to choose from. And all that is just the tip of the iceberg.
