I'm stuck on course 42 of GO series: 10 second run and can't get past that first part with all the flames in the way so I would really appreciate it if someone could help.

For that part, I mainly focus on jumping over that first single block without going far enough to touch the flames on my way down. It seems like the flame hitboxes are a little smaller than the platforms, so sometimes you'll be able to land on the edge of the strip below the flames. Just be ready to keep moving, because that platform will dissolve once you walk on it. Oh, and ignore the one block gap below the flames; you can just run across it.
