Robot Rescue
Publisher: Teyon
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) – Comic Mischief
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Robot Rescue is a fun logic game based on a simple but entertaining concept. Your mission is to free robots trapped in 45 evil computer labyrinths while avoiding deadly traps. Sound easy? Not so fast. Each robot shares linked controls, so when you move one, you move them all. It will take clever planning and nerves of steel to pull off this electronic escape. You'll need to avoid many traps, such as mines or electrical circuits, and take advantage of special elements like glue stains. Choose one of three difficulty levels and get ready for a challenge.

So what do u guys think so far?

Downloaded it, played it, and it seems "alright" (better than the other 200 pt offering "Arcade Bowling" this week) but it just seems like a much more dumbed down version of Mario Vs Donkey Kong which is well worth its 800 points. So, I'm kind of iffy about this one... It can only be played with the dsi turned on its side and you use the control pad to move around robots that need to get through doors together, etc, kind of like MvDK Minis... it's just not as good. I give it a 4/10. The music and graphics are a bit cooler than Arcade Bowling, but its kind of short on content as well.

Skipping the DSiW titles this week. Letting my 500 extra points fester. I'll probably get bomberman once I'm done enjoying pinball pulse.

Wow. Seems like only DigiDrive is worth it this week.

I downloaded this game. IMHO, very much worth the 200 points. It's well polished with good graphics and the gameplay is a solid thinking-man's puzzle game. Better yet, it doesn't put you on a stupid timer like many puzzle games in this genre. What's not to like?

hmm no videos out yet for arcade bowling? i wonder if this game has online play for 200 points imo >_>

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

Well i bought it so i may aswell review it, shouldnt i?
Well, simply, i love the game's mechanics, you control 2+ sebastians (thats my nickname for the robots, guess why) with the +pad on a maze that takes up both screens vertically (which i find to be a very confortable position, actually), all sebastians on screen move at the same time in the same directions, so you must try and evade all the hazards in the mazes, like dont put two sebastians in a teleport pad of the same color at the same time because they will destroy each other when they reach their destination, or dont close doors when a sebastian is between them!

The game is very straight foward, you turn it on, it sends you to the menu screen, that sends you to the level selection screen, theres not really "3 levels of difficulty" as the shop states it, its rather just 45 levels of increasing difficulty in groups of 15 labeled as easy, medium and hard. Talking about the easy levels, 10 of them are actually tutorials, so that leaves us with only 35 levels in total, which is a real letdown because the game itself is very good in my opinion.

i havent played it much, so i cant really tell you if the game is "OMG SO HARD" at the later levels, but the easy levels should keep you thinking for atleast a few minutes what route to take so your sebastians wont die. Talking about dieing, you cant actually die, if your robot explodes, you just restart the level with no further penalties, which can be a good or a bad thing.
The music... i could live without it.

I cant find a left-handed option though, wich is a very negative point for this game in particular.

I really wish the game had more levels (35 levels + 10 tutorials) or a level editor, but... well, it was only 200 points! I hope they make a sequel with more levels, i would totally buy it.

Well you can tell i liked it, but it will probably get bad reviews.

i give it 7/10 + a yellow glittery star because i like it~

Wow!! You gave it a 7?! I'm speechless... I think it is barely worthy of a 4.

That's a good one! I'll have to remember that.

FWIW, I feel it's necessary to point out that this game does not require much DPad precision. In result, it doesn't matter as much which hand you use. Flipping the system over and using the DPad above the screen actually sounds far more uncomfortable than using the "wrong" hand. (Which the predominantly right-handed Americans have been doing for ages anyway. )

I agree with a 7/10. It's a fun, well-polished game with good mechanics. 7 out of 10 is exactly what it deserves. Especially at a mere 200 points.

Glad to hear good things. Thanks for the impressions guys! Honestly, I think I'll still get it since I like games where you try to escape a level with conrolling two characters at once.

It's okay. A 6 is a reasonable score.

The visuals are surprisingly decent, if not as charming as you would want from an inane robot-themed game. Teyon crafted varied levels with quite a few twists, and it's fun to plow through them; while very short, there's 45 of them, so the amount of content justifies the price quite easily. I'm not sure I like holding the DSi on its side, but it works. I got very, very tired of the music a couple levels in and kept going back to playing Mighty Flip Champs! after ever 10 or so levels, but it's entertaining and it's $2, so if you're really bored one day, get it.
