Topic: Mega Words First Impressions

As a word game lover, I was thrilled to see this entry in DSiWare. I downloaded today and have played each of the 3 word games. In all 3 games, you use the stylus to move the letters around and in all 3 games, if you are unable to identify the word, you lose and you are NOT given the correct answer (I find that frustrating). Word Scrambler gives you a set of letters and a "clue" (such as "river" "geography" "camping", etc) and then you have to unscramble all the letters to find the correct word before your time runs out (an example of one I missed was the letters "L, A, N, E" and the clue was "river"...I couldn't find the correct word, but I did a search on Wikipedia afterwards and now I know what it was supposed to be). Anagrams gives you a set of letters and you try and make as many words as you can out of the letters before time runs out. And, then of course, Hangman is you're given a clue (just like the clues given in Word Scrambler) and then you guess one letter at a time until your "professor" is hung or you correctly guess the word. If you love word games, like I do, I think you will enjoy this set of word puzzles.

I was amazed at the difficulty at the game. Typically, I'm pretty good at word games like these and I actually was stumped several times on both Word Scrambler and Hangman. I haven't lost a game (yet) on anagrams. I found stylus control a little difficult on Word Scrambler and particularly Anagrams (where you are trying to sort words out as quickly as possible), but overall, I guess it works ok.

On a side note...gee, I wish someone would put a Boggle like game out on DSiWare (I have Bookworm both on cartridge and the DSiWare version but that's just not the same as Boggle).

I haven't lost on Anagrams yet, either. What do you think of the animation that takes place in Hangman?

@KnucklesSonic8: I think the animation in Hangman is cute. But, I also like the animation in Extreme Hangman. I also like that in Extreme Hangman you can create your own words or phrases to solve. I guess word puzzles aren't a big draw on either DS or DSiWare 'cause there just aren't very many of them. I wish more people liked word puzzles so that developers would publish them!
