I'm decent at the minigames but I need some help on the board game. Any tips?

(why did nintendo have to shut down miitomo)

The best way to win Mario Party is the catch a leprechaun and have him play the game for you.

It's only sort of a joke. The board game parts of Mario Party are heavily based around luck more than anything. So catching a leprechaun is a good idea.

Wasn’t there even an MP game where it no longer mattered who won the most mini games? I think that’s when I quit the series.

The series went downhill after the GCN games...I kinda stopped caring about most of it. I tried Island Tour and took it back a week or so later, lol.

So glad they're going back to classic Mario Party with the new one.

@GforGoomba 9 and 10 are bad. If you are playing the good ones (GameCube entries are the ones I play) you'll get better once you learn the boards, taking different routes and using different items depending on each situation and what other players are doing. I don't like 4 because it's much based on luck but 5, 6 and 7 give you a lot of opportunities for getting better.

Mario Party 9 gets a lot of hate, but I'll take it any day over 7 or 8. Thought it had some fun ideas.

Of the ones I've played, 3>2>1>5>6>9>DS>7>8 (Advance and Top 100 are pretty much their own thing, haven't played the others not mentioned)

Though at the end of he day, I can get four people together and put in any of them and have a good time.

@ReaderRagfish I still have to play 1-3, 8 and the handheld entries. I have heard that Wii controls of 8 are shoehorned because it was supposed to be a GameCube game.

@BlueOcean I am olaying the DS version, which is why I posted in the DS forums

@GforGoomba DS is pretty much the same as the others, luck based board. Minigames help your odds, but there's not really a reliable strategy for winning the whole thing.

In Mario Party, the best player doesn't always win. Just accept it. When even Grandma has a chance to get an incredibly lucky comeback on the last turn and win, things are more interesting for everyone.

Have any of you tried setting all four players to easy COM and watching them fumble through the game? "Toad! You're supposed to punch the giant boulder blocking the car from moving, not jump on your teammate Yoshi!"

@ReaderRagfish I feel stupid for trying to help him LOL. Yes, you are right in your last comment at least.

Artificial intelligence at its finest. Watch as 4 computers struggle to decide which of the 3 cards is different from the others!
