How much did you enjoy the first game and how much are you looking forward to the sequel?
I, for one, loved the first game and finished it completely 5 times before getting tired of it. The story was brilliant, and I don't mind admitting, I almost teared up at the end. The sequel is my third most anticipated game of 2009 with the first 2 being Zelda:Spirit Tracks and Scribblenauts and I'll be getting this the day it's released.
Opinions anyone?

sorry, dude... the first game bored me to tears, and I will not be picking up the second. I didn't like the way it forced you to create certain new things every so often (instead of you being able to pick and choose what you did and did not want to create or customize yourself), because you'd end up spending an extra forty-five minutes getting everything to look juuuuuuust right just to get through a level. there was almost no 'hey lemme just finish this level real quick' because there would be no 'quick' about it thanks to the item designing. also, the way that big things couldn't really be customized other than color-wise (like you couldn't make the rocket or submarine or whatever else a giant squid instead; you couldn't change the template given to you) kinda ticked me off; that's what i had been looking forward to the most from the TV commercial(s). the story was cute, but it wasn't enough to make me want to play it through again, not with that level of frustration involved.

in other words, they would have to make some significant changes to the design system in order for me to even think about going near the next one, and even if they promised to change everything i hated about the first, i'd still wait for reviews on it before buying. i seem to have dodged a bullet with Scribblenauts, after all, and i do remember someone being all shocked that I hadn't pre-ordered it because it was apparently going to be so awesome... sadly, not so much IMO. :/

@Odnetnin: a friend of mine mentioned he'd gotten it, and he was nice enough to let me try it out. granted, it's not like i've had the benefit of a full week of playing it (it was just the one night he let me borrow it), but the control system wasn't that great (why not let us control Maxwell with the d-pad?), and i kept having problems trying to use/do something with small objects (sometimes he'd let me choose what i wanted to do, other times he'd just pick them up immediately). it was fun to try stuff out on the title screen just to see what it would do (lol, Cthulu is angry), but the actual levels (from what i played of them) were kinda boring IMO.

it's just not my cup of tea, i don't think, and I'm very glad I held off on getting it. I guess, like with Drawn to Life, it's one of those things that sounds great in print or looks fun on TV, but when you're actually playing it, you either love it or you hate it. :/

I see. I agree that it's probably one of those 'love it or hate it' types. I also agree that the controls suck and certain levels (1-11 action for example, don't know if you've played that one) can frustrate me to no end, but (to me anyway) sometimes when a master plan of yours unfolds just the way you want it to, everything feels worth it. I guess the good outweighs the bad imo. But, believe me, I can totally understand why someone would dislike it.

The first drawn to life was pretty mediocre. I played it through once, then when we got our first real wii game (big brain academy - we already had wii sports and wii play, but those didn't count) I decided to trade it in. Hopefully this one's better. That wiiware game Max and the Magic Marker reminds me of Drawn to Life.

I didn't like the first one. The game didn't let you be creative enough, and the platforming just felt generic. Although I'm curious about the Wii version.

Well it seems like there's not a lot of interest in the sequel then.
But if anyone needs to know the release dates it's:
October 27th-US
October 16th-Europe
October 15th-Australia
