Topic: How Pokemon Games could Trade and Battle on the 3DS Virtual Console

Hello, I have made a couple of replies on a couple of posts revealing how I think Pokemon would work on the Virtual Console, but I would like to make it clear to everybody. It is quite simple, actually. There are a couple of Virtual Console games that have difference Virtual Console menus. The only difference between most Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and NES VC games are the colors on the VC Menu. However, if anyone, such as I, own any Sega Game Gear games (I own Sonic the Hedgehog, STH2, and Sonic Drift 2) then they should know that there would be two more options to mess around with the Button Settings and Screen Settings. Trust me, if you go to the Screen Settings and go to "Dot by dot" for Screen Mode, you would be in for a surprise. Also, the VC Menu looks completely different.

Now, there is a different VC Menu depending on what game you have. If you played a two-player NES VC game such as Super C or Ice Climbers, then you would see a new button that says "Start Download Play." This could be used for an future CONSOLE games, such as the SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, or even the Neo Geo. However, if you ever played Sonic Drift 2, it does not work like that. I'm not sure if any other Game Gear game has it, but Sonic Drift 2 has something different on the VC Menu, and it is called "Local Play." You could host a game or join one. It is genius.

Now that you understand all of that, you should now get where I'm going with this. Instead of the Game Link Cable, there could be a button in the VC Menu for Local Play. You could play as if it was Single Player, except that, if you go to the Pokemon Center, you could trade and battle wirelessly with your friend. I don't know any Game Boy games that utilize a feature similar to this on the Virtual Console already. But if there is one, then please tell me. The only excuse that Nintendo or Game Freak could complain about implementing the games in the Virtual Console is wirelessly linking the different versions of Pokemon together. However, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. If Nintendo and Game Freak want to make, then they could do whenever they like. It's possible, it could help prevent piracy on different platforms, it could boost sales.
