Topic: Water damaged 3ds - I don't know what to do.

So I got a 3ds for Christmas a few years ago. I lost it a month later.

I then found my 3ds a few months ago (March-ish) and was so happy that I forgot that it was moisture damaged from the cellar and put it on charge straight away. Silly me.

The top screen and 3d functions work fine, the wireless works fine, the sd card too, but the outward facing camera and lower (touch screen) don't.

I'm not too fussed about the camera, I just want to play pokemon.

The touch screen is still responsive but it went orange when I fist played on it and then all the pixels slowly died and the screen slowly turned black from the edges.

Do I spend £30 and send it in for repairs hoping that the screen will get fixed or should I just buy a new one for double the price?

(also the screws on it are threaded so I don't know if repairs places can drill them out and replace them or something)

Please help.

@Cat0301 It's not worth fixing one that badly messed up. You could get a replacement and do a system transfer like Morpheel said.

I'd grab a new system at this point if I were you. A 2DS would be a cheap replacement, but spending a little extra could net you a pretty nice New 2DS XL as well. I'm not sure how easily systems that support the 3D effect can be found in the UK/EU at this point though.

System transfers are relatively easy to do, so you should probably grab a new system and go through the process before it dies for good.

@Cat0301 probably too late for this, but worth a punt. Seal your 3DS in a bag of rice and leave it in there for 24 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture and hopefully help.
I spilled a glass of water over mine and this fixed it....
