Topic: Top screen has a line...?

The top screen of my 3DS has some sort of kinda fat line going from about top to bottom. It's nor an actual whole line, it stops and starts at some point... Kinda... I dont know how to explain that. It looks kinda like dirt, but whenever I scratch it it doesn't come off. I think its dirt because I was at a reunion and I was playing with it before hand, then I put it in my back pocket. Later I fell. I checked it immediately after I fell and it had that sorta line. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't really work. It wouldn't show well. It has kinda brown spots and also looks kinda like a smudge. Remember its going down a straight line. Please help, it bugs me every time I notice it.

Do you feel anything when trying to rub it off? It could be dead pixels.

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Yes, it feels different than the rest of the screen.

Most I can say (I keep my stuff in good condition, so I don't clean as much) then is a lightly damp cloth and try to wipe it off.

Okay, I will try it. Thank you.

It didn't work, but thanks anyway.

Is it lined up with the border of the touch screen?

It could be dirt particles that got embedded in the screen after you closed the system.

It's a common problem in all clamshell 3DS models.

I would say use alcohol, but like I said I take good care of my stuff...so I don't know for sure if that's a good idea for the screen or not. >.>

It is most likely a dent in the screen. That's my guess at least. That would explain the smudge/dirt

About the border, I don't know what youre talking about exactly. But its not all the way to the side of the screen. It has a little space between it.

Yoshi

What they're asking is whether or not the line you're talking about matches up with the edge of the bottom screen, or the border around the bottom screen.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

Ohhh! Yes it is almost perfectly aligned with the border of the bottom screen!

That's it then, it's a common problem. There's no real way to fix it, just to prevent it.

If your system is within warranty and it bothers you, you can contact Nintendo.
