Well this is it. The final game has arrived and so we as in the ones who love the professor are now gonna miss him. These series are the most innovative series I've ever played on a Nintendo system and I really am gonna miss the charming characters from the series, its beautifully hand drawn cutscenes and most important of all, its creative puzzle solving gameplay.

This is one Nintendo exclusive series that really proves that Nintendo is always innovative and loves taking risks so much........

I'm really gonna miss you Professor.......and we all hope that Level-5 makes a series which can be just as good as the Professor Layton series.

Dont worry. We still have a crossover. And..not to burst your bubble but Level 5 made it, without any influence, help or ideas from Nintendo. (In fact, there are mobile phone layton games.) They only published it in a few countries. But i suppose thats kinda a risk too.

And there's a Layton 7 coming.

For both Ios/Android and 3DS

So the series has far from ended. Wouldn't suprise me if this is the begin of a new trilogy.

No but it was still exclusive to Nintendo only and Layton 7 could be of a way to convince kids to get a 3DS if done right.

Just because Nintendo didn't help doesn't necessarily mean that its not clearly a Nintendo exclusive. They did publish the games so that helps the very least.

I'm talking about the Professor Layton Character and the hand drawn art. Layton 7 seems to look like there won't be anything hand drawn at all.
