Topic: Selling 3ds with Downloaded games and NNID

Well I got a whole bunch of crud downloaded on my 3ds like Dlc, 4 3ds Games, around 12 virtual console, Some 3ds/Dsi ware and ambassador virtual console games and my 3ds is a blue super Smash bros limited edition 3ds xl with no problems. Gonna try to sell it for around 400$ or 450$ Including the 3ds and all the crud I downloaded with a bonus or 2 like posters and ar cards I got a detailed list too (Gimmie your opinion on the price). Don't know if anyone else would want all that 3ds crud.

Anyway the point of this is if someone buys it can he do anything wierd to my NNID because I still play the Wii U. My Wii U and 3ds has the same NNID and I know you can't unlink it or anything like that.

Speaking from personal experience:

My boyfriend bought me a 3ds for Christmas (since my mom murdered my old ds lite in unnecessary anger.) It was a very nice present from my bf but he bought it used.
I didn't have any problem with this (handme downs can be great if the product was well taken care of) except for the fact that the last user didn't reformat the system. Since my bf doesn't do research before initiating his plans, he attached my sd card to the system. I didn't realize that the nnid is tied to downloads so I went and downloaded some great demos and wallpapers with some of the credits the last person left behind (since I never realized you could tie them to a Wii.)
I finally learned all of this when I went to login to pokemon bank and it said please log in with your nnid because the trial has expired. I realized that I couldn't get in because the nnid wasn't mine. I'm now really mad that I have to go call Nintendo and ask them to either transfer the data to a new nnid that I create or completely reformat and lose everything (including the amazing progress I made on the puzzles in miiverse and bravely second: the three cavaliers). So in short :
Yes. Yes we can. But we can't access much in the way of information. If you have money or credits on the account, then we can use it to purchase wallpapers and games or whatnot but we can't get into your personal information such as birthday or email addresses.
Do us a favor and deactivate the network id by reformatting the ds. It won't mess up the Wii u account. It just makes everything easier on us receiving the 3ds to not have to jump through hoops with Nintendo and it makes it easier on you to keep your information and money safe.

Edit: You can also do a system transfer and keep your ds extras then clear the ds and give it away for whatever price you feel it deserves.

If you plan to sell it with the NNID still attached, just be sure to let the buyer know and give them the login information.

However, since you mention you plan to keep using the NNID on the wiiu, then I don't recommend selling it along with the 3DS: your eShop wallet, miiverse account, my Nintendo account and personal information will be compromised.
