You might be able to do a system transfer, but I’m not sure.
Also, If you log into your account on the eshop you should be able to redownload digital games.

You can only get your game library back if you have the old system to do a transfer from.
If you don't have the old system then you have lost them unfortunately.
This happened to me when my 3ds broke, I lost hundreds of pounds worth of games and when i called customer services Nintendo didnt help at all

@D20Nat20 it was about 12 months ago, ended up getting rid of the second console as I wasn't prepared to give Nintendo more money to play my own game library.

This is one of the few cases where emulation would be justifiable. That’s just straight up robbery by Nintendo when you can’t get back games you yourself paid for.

I mean technically your buying the licence which has an indefenite life span unless revoked but to tie a licence to 1 console without an easy swap was stupid but i recall the wii was worse like those games had no account tied to them so they belonged to the console no the end user

And tbh theres something way cooler about gbc games on a smaller handheld than a switch i guess the screen size and resolution are closer to the native device ..plus your emulating it on real hadware not via the cloud so that helps

It's just so convenient to play wherever and whenever you can.

'since my kids are using the Switch so much, I can't really get my hands on it, so I've been gaming mostly on our 2DS.

Of course . . . when I finally decide to sit down and start playing Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword . . . I'll have to bite the bullet and plant myself down in the basement in front of the TV. LOL.

But until then . . . there are a lot of great games on the 3DS/2DS.

I've been trying to play borderlands goty remastered but i work 5 days out of 7 with mostly early starts or late finishes not to mention covering shifts and meetings etc the only day I'm gaurenteed off is xmas day we run holidays jan-dec but the last 2 weeks are blocked out and we must provide 1 months notice ... I need a new job tbh but this job has weekly pay and a 5 min walk away so it's tough to beat in that sense

I got to admit I'm not the biggest on reading. LOL.

But I figured out some tricks that let me enjoy books while I do other stuff . . .

1) I listen to (audio) books on my phone . . . for free. I listen to them while I am driving long distances. I travel every 2 weeks to my dad's place to help around the house and such. And I drive into the office once a week. So on those drives I listen to audio books. Also when I shovel snow off the driveway or mow the lawn I'm listening to audio books. I got to do this stuff . . . so might as well squeeze something else in with it LOL.

2) Our local library has 2 digital libraries. So I've went through and listened to all the books I was interested in on my phone. All for free. Our library also has Audio Books on CD.

3) For older books that are out of copyright . . . there is LibriVox. A free library of books that volunteers have read / recorded. And there is a LibriVox app to listen to these books on your phone.

4) For old books that haven't been recorded by LibriVox, there is still a chance you can get it from The Guttenberg Project. I download the .epub book to my phone. import it into Google Play Books . . . and then I have Google Play Books "read aloud" the book. It reads the text of the book to me with speech synthesis.

Of course there will be books that aren't available through any of that . . . so I break down and read those books.

I'm currently reading through Star Trek the Lost Years. A series of books that occur between STTOS and STTMP.
