Will we be seeing any types of stock avaliability in the future?

They do have some xl's but they have 0 regular size new 3ds. I tried xl before and it's not my preference

I'm in Canada and I'd just like to know if there will be a chance for others to get one in the future?

Unfortunately, the normal-sized New 3DS is a rarity in North America. It was never officially promoted here like the N3DS XL; after some fan backlash, the normal-sized edition appeared in a few limited edition bundles. New bundles haven't appeared in some time, so if you're absolutely desperate to get a normal sized system, you'll have to import one or pay an exorbitant price to a scalper.

It's quite disappointing, really, as I would have preferred a normal-sized model as well.

Why is that, they wasn't to sell enough?

It all started from Game&Watch.

Nintendo of America's supposed reasoning to completely ignore the normal sized model was because the XL model has traditionally done better in the region. While this is true, it was sort of a snub to fans who prefer the normal-sized model and wanted the swappable cover plates. Europe got both the normal and XL systems, but I believe the smaller size has been discontinued there as well.

refurbished n3ds from nintendo canadas website for $160CAD, not horrible price and some decent variety to chose from here https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/ca/po/browse/subcategory.jsp?c...

thanks for the link. I couldn't find any link like that at nintendo.ca before with refurbished items. how do you think the refurbs are? do they do descent inspections by the manufacturer? I'd really want this to be the last viable option just cause Imma keep it a while and buy a lot of games but it's still a option for sure.

if anyone can guess ? if they'll have a new batch released or better yet have seen some rescently and can let me know would be good thx

Ah yes, I forgot to mention refurbished systems that may be available; I personally don't gravitate towards them due to a really bad experience (not related to Nintendo), so I forgot that others do consider them. My apologies for neglecting that fact.

To be fair, refurbished systems coming from Nintendo would be the ones that I would trust the most if you can't find any brand new or decently used N3DS systems out in the wild for a good price.

As for new releases....It's hard to say for sure at this time, but I find it unlikely that the normal-sized N3DS will show up again. The 2DS XL may be the last re-design of the 3DS family. There's a possibility that we may see some new special editions or something of both that and the N3DS XL. We may hear about more releases in a future Nintendo Direct (there's one rumored for January), but for now nothing can be said for certain.

Edit: If this thread is to be believed, the New 3DS systems in general may give way to just the 2DS systems soon.
