I currently have 2 SD cards for my 3ds
-A card with Mario kart 7 and ocarina of time.
-Another card with bravely default.
I have ordered a 16gb SD card from Amazon and I'm just wondering if I can transfer data from 2 different cards to 1 single card without losing save data? If I have to I can re-download Mario kart and ocarina of time and make new saves but I'd rather avoid that if possible and I really don't want to lose the data for bravely default as I'm a fair way into the game with 60+ hours invested.
Can it be done?
I don't believe it can be done without 2 3ds or 2ds like systems. I've managed to transfer data from one sd card to another by using another game console but I believe that when you transfer data from one system to another it also erases the previous saves from the console you're transferring it from. You would still have the save data on that game on the second 3ds but it would only transfer the selected games or apps and nothing else.
I too have multiple sd cards but the only thing I could manage to do with them is download multiples of the same games with new saves for that ONE system.
Pretty sure you can just merge the data by copy and pasting on a PC. Put old card into PC, transfer all files there, remove card, put new one in, and transfer the files to the new card. Skip any files that already exist.
Best to back up both cards separately beforehand though.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
SpookyMeths' suggestion should almost definitely work, though like he said, I would definitely back up everything on the SD cards beforehand. I have copied data over from the SD card that came with my 3DS to a new larger one without a problem. It was as simple as just copying/pasting the data onto the new SD card from the old one. Then if you boot up the 3DS with the new card in it, all of your games and save data should be completely intact.
Mmm.. I have my doubts, does the save feature backup save it internally on the system itself. I thought so, if this is the case you can just redownload everything on your new SD card. Copying and pasting these things were not the best way of doing things due to the fact that there is a lot of hidden stuff on the card that you don't see. You know .... magic and stuff.
