Did anyone else get this game recently? I played level A on normal and finished it, and then I died half a dozen times on all the adjacent levels. Dang, this is a game which really makes you work for your victories! The boss of Level A was also fantastic, can't wait to battle the other 15 or so in this game!

One thing the review didn't mention too is that stages take place on a grid, and below the grid each stage has a different pattern like factory pipes or a valley. The 3D-effect is incredible for these backgrounds and really makes it seem like you're high up.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

I got this game the day it came out. Its awesome and even more awesome because my next door neighbor Todd has a 3DS and we do download play on it.

I think this is the best 3DS game I have played so far. (Not got Nano Assault EX that I think I should like due to lack of circle pad pro).

How hellish are the bullets? Because from what I've seen Nintendolife is being very misleading by calling it a shmup. :/ Maybe I just saw early footage.

Playing stages on normal, it's not that hellish. Normal bullets are actually quite fast, you move slow and your hitbox is larger than one pixel, so it's more of a straightforward shooter. On nightmare mode though, bullets are slower and more numerous and it really does start feeling like a bullet hell game. Plus, the bosses on any difficulty are expertly designed bullet hell goodness

Forgive the necro-bump, but I'm ashamed for having missed this game. I was doing research into the game development company Treasure and came across information that Hiroshi Iuchi directed this game. Hiroshi Iuchi had a hand in several of my favorite games from Treasure. Sin & Punishment, Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga, etc.

I've got some money burning a hole in my digital wallet. I think I'll fire up my 3DS one last time and grab this.

@Magician You won't be disappointed. Anyone who is into Treasure or Ikaruga and has a 3DS really should get it. It's a short game and it's nothing flashy but wow is it fun
