Topic: eShop question

Hi all... I know this is gonna sound really stupid, but has anyone figured out a way to still download items from the 3DS eShop? I wasn't able to get a 3DS until a couple months after the closure, and I was wanting to try and see if I could, at the very least, download some free games or DLCs for games I already have. Thanks for anyone who can help!

P.S. I'm fully aware that I can get some of this stuff from homebrewing but I would prefer not to do that.

Legally, the only way to download a game to your 3DS right now, would be by visiting your list of already-owned eShop titles and redownloading one of them.

That includes previously free titles, and dlc. You can’t get any new digital licenses.

In addition to what @Eel said, you also can download updates to 3DS games. Just checked by searching "update" on the 3DS eShop. You can apparently update your 3DS system when you log onto the eShop too, like I just got when I checked to see if updates can be downloaded.

Let me get this straight Nintendo, you discontinue the 3DS eShop, but you're still releasing system updates? What gives?

I believe there would be a way to get a "new" digital license... Though It's perhaps not what one would expect...

If I’m not mistaken, you can actually still transfer DSiWare titles over from a DSi to a 3DS. So there's that.

But unless you get given a dsi with games on you'd have to already own them

Shame i had 20 odd dsi/3ds games i wanted but i don't do homebrewing(not because of legality more because i like everything orginal... Although 3rd party accessories are ok by me)
